  1. Beautiful paint finish and trim. Like how you detailed the engine compartment.
  2. Great looking high metallic paint and smooth finish. Like the matching interior colors.
  3. Beautiful custom body mods and paint. The rear roll pan and taillight changes especially. The chassis is a great swap idea and fits perfectly. Like the stance and the rolling stock.
  4. Like how you're enhancing the stock body type chrome trim.
  5. Long ago while we were moving and when the movers pick up the couch there were a bunch of pills that were for our dog. He would tuck the pill under his tung and spit it out under the couch when we weren't looking.
  6. Another Kansas bonus, no front license plate required. With the design of most modern vehicle a front plate just looks out of place and is a draw back to the appearance.
  7. Exceptional finishes and realism.
  8. Great looking patina finish and the Mexican blanket interior looks just right. You mentioned the engine installation issues. I did much the same thing on the '59 C-10 kit and found, just as you did, that the engine has to go in after the body and chassis are joined.
  9. Beautiful paint and body trim finishes. The engine detailing is realistic looking. Great wheels and tires.
  10. Great looking commercial style build. The paint combination and finish look nice and smooth. Like the utility bed and the pipe rack.
  11. Beautiful paint color and finish. These were one of Fords better looking body styles. Like the stance and the wheels & tires used.
  12. Great looking Road Runner with a smooth paint finish. Clean body trim and correct blackout hood. Like the engine detailing.
  13. Hitting any object, especially any type of critter, can be a very startling experience at speed. Long ago I was driving north on a high desert hiway from southern California headed to Reno Nv. when a low flying and very large Crow decided to fly in front of me at front bumper level. I felt a slight impact at almost the same moment that the Crow flew into sight. Looking in the rear-view mirror there was a cloud of black feathers following me down the hiway for what seemed like a long time. No vehicle damage, but a few feathers were in behind the grill, and I found myself much more alert driving.
  14. I'll use Future on the kit's windows and bumpers and grill sometimes. I'll attach them to an alligator clip on the end of a stick and then dip them into a small container of Future. Allow the excess to drain back into the container, then touch the lowest point of the object to a paper towel that will draw off any Future that would form a drip or puddle along the bottom edge. Then mount the stick to a holder until the part has dried enough to handle. Not had very good luck using Future as a clear coat on the painted surface as a clear coat.
  15. Maybe consider using the Promo body to make a mold of it while it is still in the correct shape.
  16. I saw on the news today that Florida has started using Mustangs again in their iconic color scheme again for high-speed pursuit on curtain hiways in Florida. They even showed a picture of one with all the markings, lights and push bars. They are claiming a 155-mph top speed.
  17. Well-earned streetcar finish. One of my favorite kits as well. like the clean engine and chassis.
  18. Great looking paint colors and finish. I would leave the carbs in the breeze myself, but maybe one of MoPars factory hood scoops? Like the engine detailing.

I agree with you on the paint color. The paint finish looks great with the black interior. Like the engine paint detailing with the stock look without going overboard.
  20. Great looking paint color and matching interior.
  21. Like the color. I'm doing an old AMT '36 Ford on the work bench now that I painted that color.
  22. Very basic inexpensive car when new. Try and find one that looks like this now for under $25,000.00.
  23. I have worked in sales in a couple of Toyota Dealerships when this body style Supra and Celiacs where popular. The bottom picture was a stock option and very popular at the time. I never mile'd out any of those as demos. I used to take trade-ins with door rash and two-tone the sides like the top picture and that also was popular with customers and less expensive than trying to color match the side touch ups.
  24. Good morning Jim, I remember your purple Shoe Box well and love the color you used. Like your idea of the green body and white top paint scheme for this build and it would go well with your existing interior. Dino246GT's suggestion of putting the hardtop from the '55 on this would also give you the opportunity of lowering the roof a little if that is still in your mind. I did much the same thing a few years ago only with the Revell '57 Ford two door with the roof off of the old AMT '57 hardtop and kept the base model side trim. Quiet Eric's suggestion with the photo of the blue '56 with what looks like two parts of the Bel Air trim on the side would be another thought. I remember seeing a 1:1 done in much the same manor, but the trim was extended to the rear almost too the taillights. You could do the insert in white to match the roof. Plastruct offers strips of different size and shapes for creating the side trim if that's something you wanted. I like how you have added the roll pans front and rear as that smooths the look of the body. I also used those same wheels on a very mild custom Nomad build and think they look great with the custom look.
  25. On the subject of a possible two-tone. Depending on your finished body mods maybe, if you think it would be in keeping with your design, something along the line of a "Watson" style treatment or even a paint fade color treatment. The rear fender skirts start giving a "Tail Drager" look unless that works with your ideas. Don't rule out a Nomad style rear wheel well opening either.
