  1. Thanks Carl ! Thanks ! Thanks much Dann !
  2. Looks pretty good to me , nice job ! I've built a couple Metal Earth airplanes and you're right the metal is pretty thick , I bought a couple pair of small flat nose pliers to bend them .
  3. Really nice work so far and your modifications look great ! Too bad about the hood , I'm sure you'll figure it out .
  4. Nice save Ray ! I like that True Blue color , may have to pick up a can .
  5. Thanks very much everybody ! Getting busy here so there may not be any updates for a while .
  6. Finished Engine . To be continued . . .
  7. Finally had some time yesterday to get a bit more done on the engine . Lower alternator bracket was added , and I modified a Chevy fuel pump to resemble a Mopar pump and added fuel line made from solder . Also made a fuel filter out of styrene rod . Oil filter glued in place and I added a dipstick . I modified the air cleaner housing by opening up the snorkels , adding vacuum lines , and I added the hose to the valve cover breather . Here's the housing decal artwork I created a while ago . It lost a little resolution when reduced but still looks pretty good . And the finished housing . It still needs coat of clear .
  8. Thanks Mark !
  9. Thanks ! Thanks Rooster ! Thanks Carl !
  10. Well done ! The Powder Blue is a nice change and looks great , also nice job on converting the grille !
  11. Sharp lookin Coronet John ! Interior and engine detailing is excellent and it surprises me that I really like the green paint , great job !
  12. Many have tried and failed including me but you have succeeded in building an Orange Crate worthy of winning "America's Best Competion Car" at the 1963 Oakland Roadster Show ! Very very well done !!!!
  13. Now that's a gorgeous convertible , well done !
  14. Beautiful work as usual , love the colors !
  15. Thanks for the info John , I figured externally it could be any big block . I do have a 383 Roadrunner decal for the air cleaner lid so I'm all set . As for removing the A/C , it's just a personal preference . I think the engine looks much nicer without the compressor sticking up in the front !
  16. Thanks guys ! The belt idea is pretty easy to do as long you only cut one at a time .
  17. Beautiful Roadrunner Tim , I really like the Canopy vinyl roof !
  18. Very well done ! I've always been on the fence about the Ala Kart but after seeing yours I definitely like it !
  19. I've liked AMC Rebel's ever since I saw my first one back when they were new . You've really done a superb job with this one , the paint is gorgeous and those decals are amazing !
  20. Yesterday I started on the engine from the Charger kit , not an expert but I'm guessing it's a 383/440 engine ? After white primer I masked of the block and sprayed the transmission Flat Aluminum , then masked the trans and painted the engine Hemi Orange . Carb , coil , and exhaust manifolds installed . Distributor base is for a MAD distributor , I added the vacuum advance and hose . I also added a PCV Valve and hose , and the brass fitting for vacuum hose to the brake booster . Yesterday I also painted a bunch of the smaller parts but turns out I rushed things a bit . The belts/pulleys have A/C and I want to remove that so time to cut it apart . I forgot to take a pic so I've added the drawing from the instructions . I'm also cutting up the belts from the Roadrunner kit and will combine the two . Modified belts/pulleys on the engine . Boy those belts are big ! I usually thin the belts with a file but this time I'll snip them one at a time and replace with .020" x .040" strips . It's much easier than you may think . I didn't do the inside belts since they're not really visible . Looks like I need to add a lower alternator bracket ! Finished belts !
  21. Thanks Russ ! You will be very happy with Fireball Modelworks , great prices and service too !
  22. Great looking 'cuda JC , love those wheels !
  23. Nice work so far ! I like your color choice and the vinyl roof looks great !
  24. Thanks much Carl ! I was thinking about it but the more I look at it the more I like the way it sits right now . The front spindles are already flipped to get the ride height in my pics so they would need to modified to get it any lower .
  25. Thanks Francis ! I've done a few chassis swaps like this and it really pays off .
