  6. Thanks guys !
  7. Thanks very much gentlemen !
  8. Beautiful Trans Am ! The Metallic Orange looks perfect . . . and I vote "no decals" .
  9. Beautifully done Tim ! I actually prefer building like this with minimal detailing other than some paint here and there , it's fun to do !
  10. It's a good thing you hung in there and finished this , it's gorgeous ! Perfect colors and nicely detailed , well done !
  11. Thanks Roger ! I don't care for the chin spoilers either but then saw these tiny ones in the MPC kit and figured I'd try them . Still not a fan , luckily they're just on there with Tacky Glue .
  12. Thanks Guys !
  13. Thanks Tom ! Thanks John ! Thanks much Tim ! The horn was a last minute idea , if I had thought of it earlier I would have made the washer tank smaller so there would be more room for it .
  14. I built this Roadrunner using the body and interior from the MPC kit and the engine and chassis from the AMT 1971 Charger Kit . The wheels are from Fireball Modelworks and the tires are from the AMT '68 Camaro . Other parts are : side mirrors from Revell '71 Hemi Cuda , rear spoiler from the AMT Charger , hood pins from Detail Master , and the grille insert by Greg Wann . I had planned on painting it 1971 Plymouth Y8 Gold Leaf Poly but when I sprayed a sample I wasn't happy with it so I sprayed it Testors Inca Gold instead . It was cleared with Tamiya TS-13 and the decals are a combination of MPC and Keith Marks and my own air cleaner decal . This photo was my inspiration .
  15. I'll take a full size one too !! That's the coolest thing I've seen in a quite a while . Thanks for posting and really good to see your work again !
  16. She's a real beauty Bernard , exactly how I'd want one parked in my garage ! Excellent build !
  17. A couple of nights ago it was the moment of truth . . . assembling the body , interior , and chassis for the final time . Other then some fiddling with the dashboard everything slid right into place ! Looks like those rear wheels need an alignment . . . easy fix . While finishing off the engine compartment I thought it wouldn't be a Roadrunner without a genuine Beep-Beep horn ! The horn in place along with heater , brake vacuum , and radiator overflow hoses , all made from various sizes of insulated wire . That's about it ! Just a couple minor details to fix and I'll take some photos for "Under Glass" .
  18. Thanks John ! My first time using the hood pin kit and it was a bit tricky , especially tying the almost invisible wires to the pins !

    Brat Rat

The best use of a Subaru Brat I've seen , very very nicely done !
  20. Beautifully done ! That was quite the undertaking to fix the ITC body and you've really made a trophy winner out of it !
  21. Thank you Tom , I've used the magnets on doors and even to hold a bubble top open . I borrowed the idea for the hinges from Steve Guthmiller , he used them on one of his superb builds earlier this year . Thanks much Mike ! I'm really hoping I can finish it before the end of the year .
  22. Thanks much JC ! I finished applying the BMF this morning . Photos taken on my work bench never show the true color and I was curious what the gold paint would look like so I moved everything to my photo booth . . . much better !
  23. Very well done Craig , you did a beautiful job !
  24. Man that is really really nice ! The color is perfect for a Belair and I prefer a 293 over a 409 any day !
  25. Thanks guys ! This is my first attempt at a vinyl top and I decided to use the black spray paint from a mile away technique described here on the forum . First step was to mask everything completely so no overspray would get on the gold paint . Then I grabbed my favorite can of generic flat black and sprayed a light mist coat from about 18" away , let it dry for 15-20 minutes then sprayed another mist coat . When that dried I had a nice smooth finish , obviously my cheap paint wasn't cheap enough ! After some thought I grabbed a can of Tamiya TS-14 Black and tried again . To my pleasant surprise this time it worked ! A couple more light coats and then a light coat of Tamiya TS-79 Semi-Gloss Clear finished it off . The texture looks good when the light hits it and it's not way out of scale . I'm definitely going to try another vinyl top soon , with a little practice I think it can only get better !
