  1. Thanks Scott ! Thanks much Jesse ! Thanks Michael ! A reissue would be great but I don't think that will ever happen .
  2. This is AMT's rebox of the JoHan Pro Stock kit and is another that I purchased for the cool box art . I built one of the JoHan Mavericks several years ago and was impressed by the detail and how well it went together , the windshield–interior–chassis all locate positively during assembly and do so repeatedly with no interference issues . Yes it has the dreaded metal axle thru the oil pan but with such a nicely molded engine it can be overlooked . This is also the closest I've ever gotten to a true Box Art build . The only changes/modifications I made were to narrow the track 1/8" front and rear so that the tires didn't stick out quite so far , and I shaved the molded lettering off of the tires and used white letter decals from Gofer Racing . The kit decals were badly yellowed so I also printed new "Right On" and Ford" decals . Masking the body for the multi-color paint was tricky and the painting took an entire week to finish . The paint is all Tamiya TS spray cans cleared with Future . I did tint the side windows but at the last minute decided it looked better without them , just a personal preference . Overall this was a very enjoyable build not adding extra details to everything and actually building a kit right out of the box ! I hope you like it and thanks for looking !
  3. Very very nicely done Jesse , it will look great in your collection ! You're correct that blue is nearly identical to the original Monogram plastic , If one didn't know you painted it they'd swear it was just polished plastic . Very neat and clean !
  4. Great looking Boot Hill Express ! Probably the most difficult Tom Daniel kit there is and you did an excellent job .
  5. Well done Ken , some of these kits can be real lemons and you've made lemonade ! And having fun is the whole idea !
  6. That's one sharp looking Javelin , well done Curtis !
  7. These JoHan kits build up so nice out of the box there's no need for any mods , well done !
  8. Beautifully done Lee , that's super nice !
  9. That's very very cool ! Excellent work !
  10. Sharp looking GTO , very nicely detailed and that color looks great !
  11. Very very nicely done ! A little BMF might help but isn't necessary on this one .
  12. Love the silver with red stripe , great job Gustavo !
  13. Wow that's nice ! Your efforts really paid off , excellent job !
  14. Well done Bernard , your changes/additions have captured the Box Art look perfectly ! I too have collected parts for this same build and will be saving yours to use as a guide . . . if I ever do it .
  15. The extra detailing is outstanding , great work ! I had the pleasure of meeting Richie back in the early 80's . . . it was a shock when we lost him .
  16. Thanks very much Mark ! I had some self inflicted issues with the kit but overall it went together as expected . I never posted it in Randy's site , I thought it was shut down . . . do you have a link ?
  17. Well done Ray , that's one sharp looking Mustang ! Never would have known it was missing decals if you hadn't said anything . I always wanted to give this kit a try but haven't because I have no space for it !
  18. Well done ! I also enjoy these kits and they're a great break from the detail-detail-detail of our usual builds . By the way . . . what are those cobwebs made from ?
  19. Definitely not bad . . . I think it looks great ! Always liked the look of the Tri-Motor and your color combo really sets it apart from the all silver ones I've seen !
  20. Your paint looks good to me and some great progress with the interior ! I use sprue cutters the same way , saves me a trip to the garage to use a Dremel and it sure speeds things up ! When the job is finished nobody will ever know .
  21. Thanks much Tim ! Really looking forward to seeing what you do with this kit . Mine is finished and can be seen Under Glass . As for the tooling foil . . . it looks really good and I plan on buying some but for this build there was so little needed I didn't bother .
  22. Sharp looking GT350 ! That was a bold move painting white over black !
  23. Sharp looking little Corvette ! Where did you find the 1/32nd Kidney Beans ?
