  1. Anything resurrected is good news, but I just finished building a 36" and a 60" Kenworth sleeper! Never fails.....
  2. These are going to be cool trucks! The NewRay downloadable catalog also shows a 1/24 scale New Holland tractor for that lowboy, plus a ton of great looking 1/32 scale trucks.
  3. Hi Jesse, u can scroll down to the model truck section where you will find all the knowledge & inspiration you will need.If it has to do with a truck, someone here has done it !
  4. Arg! 72 here yesterday, 40 today!
  5. those look pretty close to 1/25 scale J.T. Any idea what color your going to paint em, lol
  6. My 1:1 car hauler is 82 !/2" between the fenders, 18' 2x12 wood bed and will haul a full size truck or racecar without a problem. Standard 16' utility trailers are mostly 76" between the fenders, just have to convert to scale
  7. wow, really worth the wait!
  8. I crave attention! Actually just like the forum to see what others are building, share thoughts, and tips, etc. I've learned a lot by being here and the forum have pushed me to do things I would have otherwise been content with. Years ago, there were only bi-monthly mags to look at and only a handful of models in them each month, only one show (Jacksonville) each year and I rarely had time to attend. I was completely out of modeling, spent all my time in the 1:1 world, this forum is what got me back into the hobby in 2012 A and I've really enjoyed it. Though we sometimes have some trash talking (and what forum doesn't have it!), just a great group to read about and learn from.
  9. Our winter weather usually is in feb. and march. Low to mid 60's thru wed. with what is supposed to be sunshine all week!
  10. Another good looking rig! All your trucks are well done and and the paint, stripes, and attention to detail is just amazing.
  11. Good job J.T.! Looks like u shortened the tail a little, looks a lot better. I've never gotten mine on the table yet, bit of a modeling slump.
  12. Great start, at the rate your going, what do you plan to do with the other 9 months!
  13. I like the engine collection, that's cool!
  14. Like cato said, success stories can be positive, but at the same time I dont want readers to think i'm trying to take center stage over someone elses problems. My first heart surgery (4 bypasses) was uneventful, back to work in about 2 months. before my 2nd surgery i knew I had a problem, called my heart doc and said get ready i'm coming in! Little did I know how close I came to dying that day. I had a bacteria that was eating away an artery, They cut me open to fix it and discovered an aorta anueryism that exploded! I went without oxygen for over an hour, left my chest open all nite, told my wife 3 diff times I had died, they forgot to relay that to me! I stayed in a coma for over 3 wks and in the hospital for about 6. (My hospital report was well over 200 pages) Went back to work about 3 mo. later, although I'm on disability now> I had a couple of stents put in a couple of yrs later (2011) and was told to get my stuff in order because I didnt have a yr, maybe 2 left, heart too weak to have anything else done! I'm living now with what I'm told is 1/3rd of my heart, even though the function percentage has gone back up. My doc told me what I couldn"t do anymore, I told him I wasn't dying with the remote in my hand! Although there are limitations and longer timeframes in doing things, I still enjoy doing much of the same things I did before (yardwork, vehicle restos, models, etc.) You can live with heart problems, it slows u down, but its not the end of the world unless u chose for to be. I live by Tim Mcgraws song "Live Like U Were Dying" and so far I've added 5 xtra yrs. Just my personal opinion, but to Harry and others, never give up till the last breath! And to the others, sorry if I bored you.....
  15. Looks good, maybe needs a little dirt thrown at, lol Again, great paint job!
  16. well built rig! I love this color/stripe combo.
  17. I'd say u did good. nice color combo.
  18. Great work o this one, like the old tachograph on the dash. A co. in pine bluff, ar (Abbott Tachograph) was known worldwide for rebuilding these and the old hubometer.
  19. Good looking interstate trucks, be hard to drive around town. No harm in saying u started with a snap kit, as they are the basis for alot of mine. Cheap and so many things u can turn them into.
  20. The Italeria truck tires. I've had to replace several due to crumbling ( one on the shelf now with a flat frt tire). I've tried super glueing but that doesn't work well. What I am doing now is putting a small vacuum hose or 10 ga. wire inside the frt. tire before mnting it. Rears don't seem to have as much problems, I guess becuase they are doubled
  21. Spot-on rig, nice tribute to ur dad, mine was a lifelong electrican, guess I would have had to build him a breaker box!
  22. Bill, ck out ( arkansasrailroadmuseum.org ) and the story on the resto of 819. I've got a friend that passed away last month that lived model railroading and went to Pine Bluff (50 mi.) with him several times to ck on the progress and we were there in 86 for it's maiden voyage. it's an awesome experience to stand beside this thing when it's building up steam!
  23. This thing is sooo cool, cant wait to see the doubles attached to it!
  24. Thanks guys! I figured this post was dead and gone, and had really forgot what it looked like, (it's sitting on a shelf in a friends auto parts store along with the KW and a few others. The finished KW is in a Dec 2012 post, gosh didn't realize it had been that long! And when i look at the pics of the pete now, I'm finding things that need to be worked on again. I dont guess they are ever 100% finished
  25. Thanks Anthony. Looks almost like Moebius wheels on it, different from what New Ray normally uses. If the scale is right i'd probably give that much for it. Their so called 1/32 trucks are way out of proportion
