Is the Polyglas Gasser going to be done off the new tool '62 Catelina or AMT's kit of the early to mid seventies Polyglas Gasser kit release?
-
For Dave Metzner, could you possibly make a small tree that included the needed stock '65 Nova parts? That way you can sell a few more kits for those that might want to build 2 of each year in the two different versions. Or you might just sell extra 64's for those wanting to build stock versions of each year. You may already be selling a few extra '65's for those wanting to build gassers of each year. Don't know your exact plan for the interior of the '64, but it would be extremely nice if you could just swap the chassis from the '65 into the '64 to do the gasser. and vice versa to do the stock. Much less p***ing and moaning about "I wish they had done this/or that"! Just a suggestion/wishful thinking. And to add some suggestions for a couple of other kits on my list I would like to see (none on the list yet) 1. Cal and Mary Ann Method '66 Chevy Biscayne and '66 Chevy impala wagon (Yes I stay in my seat to watch the Stock and Super Stock Eliminator cars when I go to the races). It could be done as either a Stock Version or NHRA Stock Eliminator without too many changes being needed 2, The rumored '67 Cougar 3. '66 and/or'67 Nova wagon 4. '67 Nova SS done like AMT did their '66 Nova SS (could be done like you are doing your '64 & '65 Nova kits). Also to steal some of AMT's chance to do a '67 after all the time since they did their '66 Nova 5. '70 & '74 Matador Nascar. I believe (but may be wrong) that the same chassis and engine could be used for both kits. Two distinct body styles and only one has been kitted and it is a bit lackluster in detail compared to Moebius other kits

i have dealt with Steve for about seven yeas and he has always been great at shipping and fast delivery. I would recommend him any time.

I have to agree with Matt. They do look nice and I would like to get a couple of these decals, if you make some to sell.

Not new but I never stopped to post here until now. I build mostly race vehicles and semi-trucks. Do a lot of trading and this helped me get rid of some duplicates and kits I lost interest in for other kits that I am more interested in. Have dealth with too many traders to list here, but all but one have been great. Enjoy seeing the models in the Showcase forum and also the models in the On The Workbench forum. But I always check the Wanted and Trade forums first.

I hope you do the wagon next. That is my first choice to get!

does anyone make 1/24 or 1/25 scale...
socal76 replied to oldr-n-drt's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Check Archer details They are resin and are about what you need. -
Art, you forgot to mention the three sales of Revell. First there was the sale to Monogram, which lasted until they started to outsell Monogram. Then there was the sale of both Revell & Monogram to Hallmark (Binney & Snith and Crayola owners), and then the sale to Hobbico.

socal76 replied to Nitro crew chief's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
TDR does and you can see it through thier catalog or on Shapeways Site. 3-D printed so it is not exactly cheap, but it is very accurate. I have their catolog downloaded and I will check tomorrow afternoon to see if I can find the part number for you. -
Jim Hall Camaro Trans Am 70 Camaro body?
socal76 replied to vintageslotcars's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Rex, yes that is the supplier I was thinking of. Got home and checked the computer. Used my tablet in rehab but it does not have all the stuff I have bookmarked. Home now and just have to get my physical therapy set up. Having to be in medical rehab due to broken hip and shoulder is a, well you know how the rest of the saying goes. -
Jim Hall Camaro Trans Am 70 Camaro body?
socal76 replied to vintageslotcars's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
James, I have seen the body you are looking for and I think I have it bookmarked on my computer but I am in rehab for a broken hip and shoulder so it will be at least another 2 weeks before I get a medical release to go home to check. The site has some other great conversions, but I also remember hearing some not so great issues about receiving orders. -
Mike, I vote for wiring the engine and if you want a dual carb set-up let me know and I will pull it out of one of the Revell kits. Or if anyyone knows if either the new tool or original old tool AMT has the intake and carbs that will work for you, I will get those for you. Take your pick.

Thurattraction piece is quite nicely molded. I have one of his chassic pans that was a display piece he had at the show and would not sell it to the end of the show. Well I bought it and I know he made more mods to the master and I thought the display piece I got was nice initself. Just a few mods annd it will fit the Trumpeter Nova quite well. And Scott is a tremendous person to get anything in his product line or actually listen if you have an idea.

Gunze Cobra Daytona Actually 1/25 scale?
socal76 replied to afx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well with all the discusions, references, opinions and people willing to have bodies possibly cast, why not find a reputable caster, have them do it and then just have fun building the thing instead of worrying about the scale. We all know it is not 100% accurate but just have fun building it. If you want to take the building to the extreme level make sure you post a WIP of it. Heck I am still waiting for Revell to make a CAD file to do all of their engines instead of having different sizes for the same engine. Compare some engines out of different kits by the same manufacturer, like Revell'e GM or more specifically Chevy, and see the slight differences in some. Could go on, but you get the point. -
Exhibition cars , how many were kitted ?
socal76 replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Vince, that jet powered truck was called Shockwave and it was in 1/32 scale. Les Shockley was the owner, driver, mechanic, engineer, promoter and builder. One of the 3 engines in the kit will work for a 1/25 scale engine (slightly different model number) but paying the $40 and up for just that engine is not that good of a deal for me. Wish I could remember what engine it would pass for in 1/25th scale. Too many years ago and I do not remember which issue of Scale Auto had the review. -
I simply can't put my list here because it would turn this thread into multi-pages just from my list. All too often I will start on a project and then something else will grab my interest more, so the first gets put in the box and onto the next one. But the real problem is this is a never ending procedure. Probably have well over 100 kits in this state. Might go back and do a little on any of them and then back into the box and on the shelf. Always get hung up when it comes to painting because I know that is my worst part of finishing a model. Had what I considered a very good paint job on a '57 Black Widow I had painted outside and used a bent coat hanger for the holder. I started back inside and off the hager it went and before I could stop my foot I heard a very distinct "crack". I now had a multi piece body. And this was all done while the kit was not in production so no luck finding just a body. So it goes, onto the next and stopping at paint on everything for SOME reason! Oh yeah, I also need to clean off the bench from moving a bunch of things. A 12 foot countertop bench and no place to sit and build. Too many kits and not enough space. Someday I hope I get a little more organized.

Time to check to see how much of the formatted space you have for each type of message is not close to being full. If it is, time to delete some messages. Had this problem when my new message section was up to 99% used.

UK Car modelling magazines?
socal76 replied to Earl Marischal's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
JC, how many issues of Scale Auto Modeler did you get while it was being published? I thought it was great just to see all the stuff we don't see in our magazines, just like I am betting the Europeans are doing the same thing for buying what never makes it into their magazines. I can't even count how many Photo-Etch pieces I saw in there that never were mentioned in any of the U.S. magazines. -
I would like to ask Gregg if this would be one exception he might make to the no selling rule? Allow Amy to list them here rather than e-bay, so all of Harry's friends, even those that never met him in any other way than here, mught be able to help Amy out. I saw at least one die-cast that I would like of Harry's and I am sure I am not alone. And to have his kits here instead of the bay, well that might assure her little to no costs to her.I know I would love to see some of Harry's collectionwithout having to wade through all the other things on e-bay. Just a thought

Ollie's strike again
socal76 replied to GLMFAA1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You guys on the east coast don't have any idea how lucky you are to have an Ollie's around. I see all the kits you are getting and the prices are great.I would be stocking up on kits as parts donars. Hobby Lobby clearence price is the same as their 40% off coupon price. -
Do you have masters ready to cast?
socal76 replied to GaryR's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Ace-Garageguy, I think you may be wrong about hot much interest in the casting. I think it might be nice to have two different versions of the Challenger. And I think the cut down version of the one with the car on the back end would be a great 3rd version. Just my opinion, for what its worth. And I think you need to make sure in the desription that it is noit the same version as the kit. I saw your mention of it here but those that did not, might be much more likely to purchase on if that is specified in big bold print. At first that is what I thought until I read your info in the post. I thought maybe someone had done a straight re-cast of the kit before it was rereased. -
You have to tell us how you did the great looking fender exhaust. But please dont tell me it is not really connected to the headers! Very nice the way it looks and I would like to "borrow" that design for a couple of my Willys

AMT 1966 Pro Street Nova
socal76 replied to Steve "Stangfreak? Mason's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The kit indeed does have part numbers to tell which is for what side, but like many modelers we just trim them off the tree so fast we do not pay attention. If you look at your sheet you have posted, the left is part #34 and the right is part #35. I kind of know this because I did exactly as I described when I built my first one! -
Does anyone make Weld Pro Star Wheels in 1/24 scale?
socal76 replied to RT6PK's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Can-Con, just told him the same thing in his other post here, Used to buy those kits for about $5.00, when they were cheaper than now.
