  1. Only seat decals are green inserts? Do the seats themselves have the pattern molded in ? ..in case I don't want to do a green interior
  2. I've got project 1959 Bonneville convertible as well as a 62 Bonneville convertible both waiting quietly in the wings After seeing Steves '59 hardtop all finished ,,,,,,,my '59 will probably be a this winter project . I also have a second 60 convertible I am not sure what I am going to do with And in case no ones noticed,,,I buy only convertibles. I have a passion for big open cars
  3. No. I don't buy them. I haven't heard of anyone fixing them
  4. I have a local hobby shop within 10 minutes. And I try my best to buy my everyday supplies or current kits there. Someday he's not going to be there. It's not a matter of if...buy when
  5. Steve. Is the last one a 1961 ? I REALLY like that one
  6. WOW. I really thought it was a real car . Well done
  7. Pretty cool idea. This past spring I gave away 2 builds that very well could be my best work yet . Both went to good friends and are in good hands . I dont regret it one bit . I have a Chrysler Turbine car radio and it works
  8. For kits made in the past 25 years , no. But I do have several boxes for the old old annuals I intend to keep ( talking late 50s and early 60s kits )
  9. Agreed, I saw what looks like a channel on the exterior of the body . If this is fact the case ,,one slip and your done
  10. Doesn't the AMT 62 Catalina have a clear steering wheel as well ? Several of the early 1/1 Mopar cars had clear steering wheels
  11. A few other threads are doing quite well. And I tend to lean more outside the main stream as far as interests go. Plus I have a 1959 Bonneville and a 1962 Bonneville ( both convertibles ) I need to redo and need some ideas . So,,,,,,, post em if you have them I'll start. An originai issue SMP 1958 Bonneville convertible I rebuilt earlier this year. my 2nd one is a builtup silver 1960 Bonneville I bought as is and seriuosly doubt I'll ever take it apart .
  12. BADMAN hands down. But then I don't build shoebox chevies either
  13. Top 2 look like 1969 coronet maybe .?
  14. Harbor Freight has an assortment of O rings for cheap
  15. Although I am not buying at the rate I was a few years ago...but with somewhere in the 350-400 kit range stash ......I guess I need to get busy.
  16. Steve, Believe me, I thought about that. And I try my best to avoid the builds with all the custom stuff glued on. BUT,,,, I also look at whats under there . If its just a thin mldg like these cars had. Then I dont worry about it to much. On a 1959 Mercury Parklane or Ford Galaxie as an example it becomes a completely different animal. Seems like finding them without the goofy stuff added on is tough . Then I weigh the options of how much I am willing to accept at a particular price point. Before bidding on it I looked at pics of the 1/1 cars I have a feeling its not going to be a big deal ,,,,at least I hope so .Either way at the price point I think I'll be ok.
  17. Just picked up a decent builtup 1960 Buick convertible. with its original box and instructions. All for the grand total of $35 I think ( hope ) all the custom stuff will come up without to much grief
  18. If you want to do the Bucky Hess car in either paint treatment. I am definitly in. Based on how succesful this car has been over the years,,,,,I'm suprised no one has ever done it before
  19. I 'm not familiar with the Firebird kit in question. But something to keep in mind if its a kit based on an old annual ,,,, the chassis rests against the interior floorpan. and the interior tub rests against the glass , so make sure the glass is in when doing your mockup
  20. Corect, The only one that got the silver panel argent panel is the SE equipped cars wih could be a base model SE or an RT/SE ( the silver is actully a seperate piece ) All the TA's got the black paint to coincide with the black rear spoiler MOST RTs were body color ,,,but I am pretty sure some received the black paint treatment ( unless it was an SE )
  21. So cool . And I would be in . Heres some insperation for ya. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=157692
  22. This is some cheap rattle can stuff I had laying around...I think it came from true value
