I had this kit as a kid & loved it, but I've never seen another one since with the exception of the occasional ebay listing. AMT included a real grille, front and rear bumpers and tail lights. This has been my Holy Grail kit for decades. AMT also issued this kit, which I've never seen apart from ebay listings. IIRC, AMT issued these kits the same basic P/N but one has a 3 or 4 character extension. The box art indicates that this one may not have the front bumper or grille, among other things (decals?) Anyone know anything about these kits?

Hey all, so glad to be back here on the forums. Man, I missed them. It isn't much yet, here's my work in progress: A '32 Ford Roadster from an older, sealed 1980's AMT kit I bought for $10 at the Mid-Atlantic NNL in May. I've ditched the fenders and running boards and will channel the body over the rails. I'm going to try to use the kit wire spoke wheels if I can clean them up really well. I ditched the kit tires as well and they've been replaced with the thin stripe Firestones from the AMT Custom & Competition tire set. As you can see, this worked perfectly because the kit's wire spoke wheels would have covered up a good portion of the wide whitewalls. The front tires should be a little smaller than the rear, but they look pretty nice and I can live with it. To get the front end as low as I want it, I used a dropped front axle from the parts box, no doubt from an older AMT 2in1 kit. I would buy 1/25 dropped front axles by the dozen if I could, by the way. On a side note, I highly suggest getting a subscription to some of the car magazines out there. They're super cheap via subscription and give me a lot of inspiration.

Ordered this kit on monday it got here saturday. Hasn't been too bad, theres a few nicks and burrs you gotta you gotta knock off with a razor after taking them off the tree but I actually had pretty good luck. I really wanted the engine to look nice but do different. Ive seen alot of hugger and red and dont get me wrong I like them both but I decided to match the body color like some pro streets youd see at a show. Its Duplicolor BGM0539 replaces T155. I still dont know what im gonna do but im sure its gonna be pretty basic. This is my fist drag car so I dont have any spares for it. Might get a fancy steering wheel or something

Finally finished my 49 Merc.(The Golden Diamond) This has been a long on going project that started at least 8 years go. It all started with a birthday gift from Alton Spence. (once again, Thanks Alton) and much needed pushing by my brother from another mother Luke Karosi as well as inspiration from his magazine, Kustoms Illustrated. I chopped it and hard -topped it then sectioned the body 4 scale inches, added the canted quad headlights with a kustom fitted grill. The tail lights were from the parts box and were canted as well. All of the interior was kustom made using materials from parts boxes and styrene pieces. The dash is a kustom fit 59-60 Chevy unit with a kustom steering wheel along with hand made Lakes Pipes from Aluminum rod. Glass was also made from templates seeing the original no longer fit. But enough with all the jibberish, on to the pics...

This is my current kitmash project in 1/25. This is a pre-CUCV and pre-MILCOT of a U.S. NAVY '55 Chevy Step Side Task Force Second Series. The prototype pics are from my dad's film footage when he was enlisted. The iSheets indicate location for these exhaust parts, but there are no holes for the pins. I had to drill hole at 1/16" through the top side of the chassis frame part. thanks for looking.... build continues...

I gotta AMT 68 gt500 and the body has been cut below the driver door from the wheel well to the middle of the door. I haven't the slightest clue how to fix it and do it right. I'd much rather trade the whole kit to a pro. 23.bmp

Hallo everybody, today i want to show you a two-week-built from February this year. In times, when i built too much details, i need a simple kit to relax. Ford F100 Wrecker
Dominik posted a topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Hallo everybody, today i will show you my version of the Midnitecowboy, that i built in March 2010. I didn't like the Base from the kit. So my choice was a classic Ford F100 from the shelf - to give him a better style. Sure, this classic Ford is often in my collection... What was my intention for this Built? I wanted a Wrecker that - if you see it behind you in the mirror - shouts out: "Get out of my way!" I took the Kabine and Interior from the Ford, the wrecker and frame from the Kit. Also a engine from a 70 "Heavy Chevelle". There were many changes, till the parts fit together. Some working on the body, made a real heavy bumper. At last, i tried weathering on it and garnished it with some gimmicks, that i tried the first time too.. Alright, you want some pictures - enough of words: ... "Get out of may way!!" the engine: hmmm...the interior needs a clean up... ...think, the driver lives in his wrecker... ...and had even not eaten his pizza! Thats it! Some gimmicks that had stolen my time - if you want, you can go on the search in the pics... Helmet and gloves, wooden blocks, cover, remains of pizza, hemp rope, maps, empty aluminum cans, oil can 1-liter, hand oilers, starter cables, some tool, soda can, broom, fire extinguisher, colored booklet, jumper cables, beer bottles, wire, ceiling crowbar. I think I've not forgotten anything. Maybe the rag in the filler neck? The hammer, wheel crosses or battery? Missing beacon, perhaps? Fuelcan? No - all aboard Thanks for your patience - its your turn- 15 replies

Hallo everybody, today i want to show you my first custom-built. It is based on the first issue of the amt 58 Imala, that i have built "since i was a little child". It is too old, that i remember Now, that was the first "look": Nice, isn't it? I took it in May 2010 and gave him a totaly restauration and - sure - a complete new look. What changes have i done? - made it 2-Seated - extendet the trunk - also i extendet the intigrated frontbumber - mounted a continetal kit at the back from a 54 Victoria - channeled the backlights - removed all trim - new coat and interiorcolors - installed a Hemi - mounted Centerlines out of a "Heavy Cevelle"-Kit - made a small Display with gimmicks - for sure, i changed the roof and took one out of my partsbox A Picure from the work on the body: ...and from the scratchbuilt gimmicks And thats the result: ...tbc...

Hi fellows today i want to show you another work, if a car tells a story - like my bulli "Horst" does. This i built in April 2010 and it was my first model, that i opened the doors. And, till a hardtopcoupe isn't hard enough, i made it with a convertible. Why? Of course, it belongs to the story: This Olds is in a garage, they want to sale it. But, this stupid mechanic, how wants to change the sparkplugs, does nothing but s***. He has demolished a sparkplug. So he must pay for his own foolishness and repair it. The second guy has to clean up the car all over, but he is thinking, he has enough time to make a rest - not even the windshield is done... Take a look - their are some pics more... ...to be continued...
