HomerS Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Stopped by one of the local stores stores today. Plenty of Escalades, Camaros, Corvettes and a couple tankers.......and one cashier. Who would imagine a retailer with Christmas toys busy in November.....
Sledsel Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Found a Revell 48 Ford in Columbus. Grabbed it along with a Gremlin, Diamond Reo, Kenworth cab over, International Transtar, and a flatbead trailer. Was a good day.
Tom Geiger Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 Interesting! I haven’t seen anything Revell. All Round 2 in this season
ewetwo Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 I've never seen the 48 ford or the chevy pickup at the Ollies near me. Not that I need more kits. LOL

I bought a total of 5 1962 Thunderbirds with the delusion of using the innards to rebuild my 1960-66 cars! At the speed I build? That '62 T-Bird lures me in every time, too. Just can't pass them up. Found one in Ollie's recently and it came home with me. Even though I already had 2 of that newer version. And 1 of the original release, with the red T-Bird on the box which didn't have the stock 4-barrel and other parts in the re-issue. Oh, forgot. Now I have TWO of the original release. At a flea market, I found a cheap AMT "Value Pack," with 3 kits, a tube of glue and paints. The 3 kits in that Value Pack are all great parts sources: the '62 T-Bird, '69 Olds 442 and the '66 Buick Riviera.
BlackSheep214 Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Stopped by Ollie's the other night and saw they restocked more AMC Gremlin kits. Same as usual but a few leftovers - Corvettes, Escalade SUV, Camaro, and a few Oil tanker trailer kits. Didn't grab the Gremlin kit though...
Mike999 Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 Stopped at the Ollie's yesterday in Anderson, SC. It had loads of Revell Police '48 Fords, AMT '55 Corvettes, and some of the 2012-up Vettes, Camaros etc. Also the ex-ERTL International Transtar 4300 Eagle. Going off-topic, plenty of Revell 1/48 scale Focke-Wulf Fw-190's, Lindberg Tug Boats, Mars Explorer missiles, Civil War Cannons and Stagecoaches. There was one lonely Lindberg "Big Red Rod" 1/8 scale bucket T on display. If the store had any more of those, they were buried where I couldn't see them. Or maybe the store only brings out one of those at a time, since they take up so much room.
mchook Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 I got a coupon for 15% off entire purchase from ollies so I figured lets see if they had any models. They didn't have anything I wanted but I did notice some Revell kits for kids that I've never seen before. These would be cool to get some younger generations to start building. They had a firetruck, police jeep, race car and off road jeep. Here's the off road jeep.
1930fordpickup Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 They had Revell in the add this week. I stopped by the Alexis road Toledo store and they had a bunch of the Mystery Machine vans a some of the BI Planes. They had some of the kids kit mentioned above also. Nothing of our normal interest.
ewetwo Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Email from Ollie's says "Model Buy Out" again. The closest Ollie's to me closed.
Snake45 Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Our Ollie's is moving, from their current location next to a closed K-Mart, to across the highway into what used to be a Toys-R-Us. But the new one won't be open till next week.
Mark Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 I stopped at one store here late last week...no car/truck items, all Revell...Scooby-Doo, Star Wars, and beginner stuff intended for kids. I wonder if they had to dump the Star Wars items...licensing period ended for Revell?
64Comet404 Posted February 20, 2021 Posted February 20, 2021 I can get to within 30 miles of my 'local' Ollie's, but unless someone wants to float kits across the St. Lawrence, I'm completely out of luck...?

OldNYJim Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 Ollie is back at it again, apparently: https://www.instagram.com/p/CP1Yp8PDB3S/?utm_medium=copy_link
BlackSheep214 Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 Hmmm... may have to make a little side trip to Ollies soon. I want the '57 Ford.
HomerS Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 Same here.....zilch. Lots of empty shelves in every department.
1930fordpickup Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 The Add says starts Thursday. Check every day but maybe they don't have time or staff to put them out early. They will not be out until Wednesday, normally here in Toledo.
tom Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 I went to the new Barkhampsted CT Ollie's yesterday, and was surprised to see model kits there. They had these kits for $9.99 and some trucks for $16.99. I bought the Gremlin. I also had a 15% off coupon that would have expired next week, so that worked out great.
RSchnell Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 Thanks for the heads up, I'm going to check my local one. Like Tom I have a 15% off coupon to use up as well.
Snake45 Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 Somebody let us know if they have any other kits. I wouldn't drive across town for the Gremlin, VW, and '57 Ford if they were free. (I still haven't built the '57 Ford I bought in the '90s, and possibly never will. )
