curt raitz Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 While cleaning out the model cupboard, I came across a number of cars I had started and never got back to. Time to finish them or chuck'em...! I know I must started this Volvo Wagon from Tamiya at least 20 years ago. No idea where my head was at, but I threw in a Fujumi accessory kit in as well. This car was so close to being done, I had to finish it. Posting it for your enjoyment, then it will grace the pages of eBay. Thanx for looking'
PatW Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 It looks great, well done Curt. I used an 'already started' Volvo racing estate with a few bits missing, using the bike and scratchbuilding the rear rack...
mod3l Lover Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Curt, I like what you built there! I remember when Patrick did his (nice job Patrick) and I was thinkingthat I would like to find one of those around here. We don't have any well stocked hobby shops around here, Milwaukee is the closest for me.Great job to both of you for building a real sweet combo there!! David S.
donb Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Cool build. I think that's the first one I have seen on here. Looks great with the bike.
espo Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Turned out great and the Bike and Tule storage unit look perfect. Almost a shame to sell it.
Jaguar man 21 Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 As a Volvo nut and a 850 owner I love it! I have two of these to build
Zoom Zoom Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Nice; hardly ever see these built. Mine had been painted around 20 years ago when the kit came out, sat in a box because paint job was bad. Finally finished it a couple years ago.
mod3l Lover Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 That one looks great too! How come, I wonder, that there can beso many built almost exactly the same way!?! Very cool guys!!! And I wish I had funds to be bidding on that green one. Well I canmaybe still find one when I do. David S.
geetee66 Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Nice job!The bike and box go well with it.Popular with people who like to tow caravans, but they make awesome sleepers!
Bernard Kron Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Now that's hard-core auto modeling! Nicely done, too...
Jonathan Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Some very cool Volvo wagons there! I like the add on accessories.
kelson Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Good looking build!i built the same kit last summer.
Atmobil Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Great looking Volvos you all I think it is great that Tamiya did such a commom modern car in the 90s, to bad they don't do that now.
Foxer Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 It's great to see a Volvo Wagon here ... looks great!What we need is a 1/24 145! eheh
drodg Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Nice and I didn't even know that kit was out there. Thanks everyone for sharing.
bbowser Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Great to see a wagon modeled! I can't tell you how many of these are seen with CT plates in these parts, they're everywhere.

Thanx for looking' very nice, Curt - looks like you were on a vacation trip. Where did you get the bike from? was it included in the kit?
oldcarfan Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 I love it. You have such a way of doing just the right stuff to make your models stand out! I'm a sucker for Volvos. We just bought an S70 for our son's first car and I drive a V50. I've been looking for this wagon kit for a while, but I'm not willing to pay the current price. I'll just keep holding out for a good deal.
AthOz Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 (edited) Nicely done! w/T5 wheels. The twist beam axle on these is pretty slick and the kit has it well detailed. The front sub-frame is massive. Any engine pics? The turbo I-5 looks awesome under the bonnet and sounds great @ WOT. Edited August 6, 2017 by AthOz
