Vega......Grumpy Vega.

It will be interesting to see what creative builders do to make it more accurate.

Scrap the chassis and build a new one.

Not great box art.  No Fast and Furious box art makes me wonder what decals it has? Guess I will wait and watch Chris build it..

MPC-938 1/16 1973 Dodge Charger Richard Petty Race Car

Not sure if this will be a straight re-issue of the...reissue from 2012, MPC #767, but I recall Round2 hinted at this after the Street Charger was run in the One Run of Fun deal.

Interesting that they are putting this one out again. One of my all-time favorite kits! They just started drying up and are getting a little pricey.

I know that they modified the body to backdate it to make the NASCAR version, but I wonder if they would ever release this kit with the Street Machine interior & bumpers, new wheels, tires and exhaust parts for a G Machine version?

If it's changes to the tooling, then very unlikely, if it's a matter of swapping inserts, possible if there's enough demand.

the car or the box art - or both?

Haha , while the body kit isnt all that great (IMO of course), the box art makes it look worse.

I don't feel AMT did a good job on most of the F&F cars , they just looked toyish IMO.

They may have just stumbled / lucked into great timing!

Due to the panicdemic stay-y’all-home shutdown of spectator sports, the network(s) and NASCAR have been running vintage/classic old races.  Tom Carter of Spotlight Hobbies says that has triggered a remarkable uptick in sales of the old NASCAR kits you couldn’t give away the past few years!

Neat!. Maybe the emergence of Salvino's Kits maybe has helped, too. That has probably stoked some interest in the '80's and '90's NASCAR kits.

Its interesting,  I myself have sort had a resurgence in wanting to build 90's ear NASCAR stuff again, for me its redoing the ones I built during the 90's when I was teen, because, well, no one needs to see them and its fun to build them at my current self skill level, sadly most of them require Slixx decals which don't age well ☹️
