Interesting. I think when I build my own "Fireball custom," I'll try to find some sort of windshield about the right width ('69 Camaro? I've bought several just for parts), and cut/carve a mounting slot of some sort.
W-409 Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 Today I got the modification from Hardtop to Sedan done on this '55 Chevy. Next up...More body modifications.
Tom Geiger Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 Got a couple coats of silver on it! Pleased with my bodywork, no real issues! Going for a two tone.. for those who think Tamiya tape is too expensive, here’s an illustration.. use it for your critical edge and then use cheap painters blue for general masking

Modlbldr Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 (edited) That fogging on the paint is looking great Tom! I spent some.time.today doing a bit (very small amount) of BMF on the 57 Chevy. I also airbrushed some Molotow chrome on some parts for my custom chopper. I sprayed a final coat of clear on my Nova Sedan and sprayed a coat of Tamiya Smoke on the chrome for it. Later- Edited April 20, 2021 by Modlbldr
Snake45 Posted April 20, 2021 Author Posted April 20, 2021 Got the white plastic body of the '65 Ford glue bomb I'm working on polished out. Now I just need to paint it white on the inside after the washout water dries. Got the interior basic color painted yesterday. Finished the chassis and wheel/tire rework last week, so I should be able to wrap this one up this week.
Mattilacken Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 Made some progress with the hood fitment. Had to cut out the original center section to be able to fit the hood. Did also try a new grill/bumper to se if the fitment is better.. will be needing some filling.

PatW Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 (edited) AMT Tee Vee Buggy. a few things left to do, windscreen, number plate, rear lights etc. I took out the woody decal and replaced it with wood strips. Edited April 22, 2021 by PatW
TransAmMike Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 (edited) For my '55 Chevy "Hot Rod" build, my second ever attempt at headers. 2mm rosin, no collectors yet. I guess they came out OK, not too sure about the design tho. Edited April 22, 2021 by TransAmMike
Mattilacken Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 Made some dash work. will use the stock dash since fitment to the cab is better
cobraman Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 I managed to screw up the paint job on the Monogram 1/43 Cobra I'm working on , all by myself ! ?
Mattilacken Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 I managed to extend the transmission tunnel, also made the back part flat instead of angled. Removed the battery. And made some seat mouthing points.
Tom Geiger Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Still on the Valiant Speedster.. actually on the computer working out the emblem decals.
OldNYJim Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 (edited) Clear coated a bunch of stuff today - not my smoothest ever clear coat but it’ll buff out nicely I’m sure Shot a bunch of bits, in fact! Oh, and sharpened my pencil ✏️ Edited April 25, 2021 by CabDriver

Tom Geiger Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 (edited) Busy weekend aside from model cars.. did take some time out to create some decals for the Valiant Speedster. Printed and clear coated. Probably put them onto the body tomorrow. Edited April 26, 2021 by Tom Geiger

Zippi Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 Did some paint/Gloss testing today on some spoons as I'm trying to find something what works for me and I can repeat. I used Anita's Glossy acrylic red paint and for the Gloss finish I tried Pledge Revive it, Tamiya Clear, and Rust-Olem Gloss. I think the Rust-Oleum came out on top. We'll see what it looks like tomorrow after it's cured for 24 hrs. Since the Rust-Oleum is an enamel it can still be wet sanded which is something else I need to do some testing on.
