Plowboy Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Actually, it's a '61 with a '60 grille (with a little change to it). This little model was a rough restore! It had been painted with a hot lacquer inside and out. While I managed to remove the paint pretty cleanly, I had to do a ton of sanding to get the body smooth again. I gave up on trying to salvage the chrome on the side of the body and shaved it. I did manage to keep the scripts. I didn't bother with the interior much. Just replaced the dash and steering wheel along with adding an automatic floor shifter. The rest was just paint and detail. The body is in Model Masters Diamond Green with a coat of Tamiya Pearl and clear. The interior is in Dupli Color Bright Aqua and black. Wheels are Pegasus Shueys with Pegasus disc brakes. It's a simple little model. But, it came out just like the vision I had for it. Thanx for checking it out!
Snake45 Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Very nice, very clean! Looks like it could have been a cover car on the old '90s magazine Custom Rodder.
Phildaupho Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 That is one great looking first gen Falcon. Well built.
stevehansen Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 PHENOMENAL BUILD!!!!! Very clean and cute
Lunajammer Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 I like this a lot. A very savvy choice in color.
1930fordpickup Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 I like this a lot. Been looking at one in my dads barn since 1974. I will show a pic of this to my brother to maybe get his butt in gear.
RancheroSteve Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Wow, beautifully done - and your photography really shows it off nicely!

OldTrucker Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 Sweet little Falcon! I wish the green showed up better on my computer! It's such a great color! I love the first generation Falcons. My uncle Ray had one and would let me drive it in the country when I was like 11 years old!
cobraman Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 Sweet ! I would like to have a real one just like that in my garage.
