With full side glass and everything being shades of black it is very hard to see on the finished build as I found out on my Escort RS1800 build. afx
Rally cars compete in all types of conditions from snow and ice to rocks and sand and everything in between. I decide to make some varying width and offset wheels for a possible gravel spec version build later. Wheels on the far right are straight form the box the two sets on the left are my modified versions I did some detailing on the wheels as well. A hole can fool the eye to think there is a fastener there. I may add fasteners later. Edited April 4, 2020 by afx

First off I'm admiring you build and all of the details. I often watch some of the Rally Racing on YouTube and the above picture is what is often seen. You mention the color White for the Chassis bits and one thing I have noticed is that most of the cars seem as if the underside is often painted the same color as the top. I wouldn't suggest doing it any different than what you're doing, but I just found that interesting.

Being of uni-body construction - meaning there is no frame and the floor is an integral part of the chassis structure they are typically painted the same color as the body. This car will be painted white. 14 hours ago, dublin boy said: Fabulous stuff JC.. Edited April 5, 2020 by afx

afx
Since I have most of my build strategy worked out I decided to jump into the gravel spec build. On the right is the car I have been working on '77 Monte Carlo. On the left is the '80 San Remo winner that will have a few different details.
