NitroMarty Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 What if, rather than ordering their experimental Turbine Cars destroyed, Chrysler had sold them to the Public??? And what if the crew here at NitroMarty's WTH Motorsports got their hands on one a few decades later??? I imagine it would end up as something like this.... Really not much more than a bit of a shave (emblems) and a slight altitude adjustment... Rolling stock was sourced from a JADA diecast '60 Starliner... Paint is old Testors Model Master Evening Orchid Lacquer....
espo Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Great looking color combination and the wheels work well with the stance.
doorsovdoon Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 I love it. I did paintings of the Chrysler Turbine for an art project when I was in school. The drama class was doing a musical set in the 50's, and knowing I could draw and paint, they got me to do some of the background boards.
Steve H Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 Marty, WOW!!! I love this build. I don’t even like the turbine car and I still love it. Slick and somewhat subtle. Perfect stance, awesome wheel/tire choice, and perfect colour. I might want to build one now. Cheers, Steve
Plowboy Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 Best looking Turbine I've ever seen!! Love the color and wheels!
Dave Van Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 Neat idea.....Maybe Leno will do that!!!
Richard Bartrop Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 That is really cool. Now I'm trying to imagine what sort of performance parts you'd make for a gas turbine.
AmericanMuscleFan Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 Very nicely done Marty! I thought these cars were ugly when I first saw one several years ago, but the more I look at them the more I like them now, very avant-garde for the time. The wheels, the wide tires on the back and the stance are a big plus for me. I LOVE it!!!
Claude Thibodeau Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 Hi Marty! Superb idea! Just the orchid hue, instead of the ubiquitous copper, makes it different. I have those exact wheels in my stash... You give me a clear idea of how well they look. The stance on your car is the better for it. Bravo! CT
Bills72sj Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 Sweet! It is amazing what color and stance can do to virtually any car of the 60's.
Peter Lombardo Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Very interesting and not a build, or "treatment" you see very often. I like it. I like the color better than the same old Cooper/Bronze we see all the time too. Very nice.
Spottedlaurel Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 That's excellent, really nicely built with a little bit of lateral thinking and the finished result looks great.
Koellefornia Kid Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 NICE, Marty! I often thought about a pro touring Turbine Car... You nailed it!

spencer1984 Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 It looks great in custom trim, nicely done!
