Plowboy Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 (edited) Another old project just finished up. In typical 2020 fashion, this build was a tough one! Paint issues, fitment issues, you name it. But, I was determined to get it finished. It's a kitbash of a Monogram Impala SS and the awful looking Alternomad. I grafted the roof of the Alternomad to the SS and modified it's interior to fit the SS body. The interior is simply Tamiya Gray Primer with various finishes. The body is Model Masters Dark Cherry Pearl with TS-13 clear. Wheels, tires and disc brakes are from one of the Revell California Wheels kits. Thanx for checking it out! AMT68 Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Roger you definitely have a talent for altering the appearance of a model. Great work.
Dragonhawk1066 Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 I like it! Very cool and a very nice paint job!
Erik Smith Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Great looking model, Roger. That’s a combo I’ve often looked at and thought “I wonder how that would work out?” Now I know. Awesome work.
Spottedlaurel Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Very nice work there Roger, I'd never have known it wasn't meant to be like that from the outset.
espo Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Beautiful looking build. Makes you wonder why Chevrolet didn't think of that.
lghtngyello03 Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Wow! This is a super clean looking build. No way to tell that you had problems.
Jonathan Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 That is awesome! I'd drive this land yacht every day!
doorsovdoon Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 That's a pretty mean looking station wagon, very nice work.
Mattilacken Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Beautifull! I just love these modern classics!
bbowser Posted December 25, 2020 Posted December 25, 2020 Great concept and execution. That'll get the groceries home fast!
Geno Posted December 25, 2020 Posted December 25, 2020 Now that's how GM shoulda built the Chevy wagon. That's off the chart cool.

The rear pillars have to be bent to meet the body. Making the side glass fit was also a pain. I did manage to use the rear glass from the kit.
bogger44 Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 (edited) Very cool wagon Roger. It sure doesn't show that you encountered the issues you spoke of, the end result looks great. Maybe GM should have offered a wagon in the SS lineup as well, as I'm sure they would of had some takers. Edited December 26, 2020 by bogger44
carrucha Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 Cool wagon. Excellent work on the conversion. GM definitely should have manufactured this wagon.
Mr. Metallic Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 That's a good looking car. Clean conversion work as always from your bench.
