The Modeling Hermit Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 These are a couple of rebuilders that I made a little more presentable.
bisc63 Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Love 'em! I especially like the gold-ish colored one, but this handsome body style can look good in so many colors... You did them both very well. I have been looking forever and a day on ebay for a re-builder of one of these I can afford, and they just go nuts at the last minute every time. The search continues...
David G. Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Great work on those, and of course the dioramas. I really enjoy those too. David G.
Kah puts Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 Ok I'm going to have to crack open that vintage Johan and get on, yours are brilliant, I didn't know those wheels could look that good, bravo.
The Modeling Hermit Posted May 2, 2021 Author Posted May 2, 2021 I can't take credit for the wheels on the convertible. My friend Troy Deal, did those and gave them to me.

espo Posted May 3, 2021 Posted May 3, 2021 Great looking redo's and I like how you pictured them like an old Oldsmobile ad.

Monty Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Now I'm really kicking myself for all the times I passed over this kit. Yours are obviously very clean builds, but the paint colors you chose just "pop". Nice work! Would you mind sharing the exact paints you used (ex: Model Master #1614 etc).
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 4, 2021 Posted May 4, 2021 Fine looking models. Especially appealing to me as I have a real '63 Dynamic 88 convertible (identical body style to yours, minus the Starfire side trim), the car I drove in high school, awaiting restomodding.
The Modeling Hermit Posted May 4, 2021 Author Posted May 4, 2021 Monty, I'm sorry, but I don't remember the exact paints that I used. The hardtop was Testors metallic gold with a pearl coat over it, followed by Testors wet look clear. I don't remember the exact numbers. I'm not sure what paint I used on the convertible.
Chuckyg1 Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 Oh yeah. Couple of nice cruisers here. Perfect colors. I'd love to have a few of these. Nice pair.
carbuilder1950 Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 I love the old "Starfires," like your 2 shown here. Very different, but very very nice. Great job restoring them both.
