doorsovdoon Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 (edited) Not many people wouldn't recognise what movie these cars are from , especially when side by side. After watching the movie the other night, I thought, I need to build those! So I picked up the Revell '68 Charger and '68 Mustang GT and went to work. Quite a few hours were spent looking at movie stills and watching sections of the chase scene on YouTube for reference. The wheel covers for the Charger were very kindly sent by Steve (Can-Con) and the licence plates came from a seller in the States. The Mustang has everything needed in the kit to build a Bullitt Mustang, the only extras needed for the Charger were the wheel covers and to paint some whitewalls on the tyres. I really enjoyed these builds and both kits go together very nicely. The Charger chassis put up a bit of a fight but some careful trimming of the door cards and dropping the dashboard a little had it sorted. Cue "Shifting Gears" by Lalo Schifrin! Snake45 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 VERY nice, both of them, and your photography is very imaginative and just flat hella-cool! VERY well done and model on!
Mattilacken Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Both came out great! Not often I can say a mustang looks more sinister than an Charger but those cars are the exception!
Hi-Po Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Nicely done! A great tribute to one of the greatest -IMO-, movies of all time.
AMT68 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Two excellent builds with respect to detailing and paint. And your vinyl top grain always has the right proportion for a scale model. Getting the vinyl tops misted correctly is something I continue to practice.
Hmann68 Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Just awesome! Good work on two iconic cars from an iconic movie!
THarrison351 Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Very nicely executed, but I would have liked to have seen the eight hubcaps come off!
Captain Spaulding Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Great job on both the Charger and Mustang.

doorsovdoon Posted August 10, 2021 Author Posted August 10, 2021 I did remove the wheel trims a number of times but no sooner my back was turned they re appeared back on the car!? xD
Dave Armstrong Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Great movie, even better cars! Nice work on those, they really look good!
FLHCAHZ Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Exceptional craftsmanship on both of those beauties!
espo Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Beautiful looking pair of movie cars. You managed to find a shade of green about as close to perfect as you can get for the Mustang. I like the way you did the "Action" photos of your builds. 1
