carbuilder1950 Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 I haven't a clue where the idea's for this came from or why I built it, but I had way more fun that one man should be allowed to (Rush Limba?). Anyway, this is the latest bug body (1999??) that for some reason I went kinda off the wall crazy on. I don't normally build things like this. The "Shovelnose" frontend I scratched built, and also scratched up the rear of the car, and the side panels, and molded the fenders around the Dub City "beastly large" tires and wheel sets. I painted the car with House of Colors silver metalflake and coated it with Organic Green candy urethane, and the yellow stripe on the drivers side over the left fender I painted on, so I could use the decals I chose, then buried it all deep in clear-coat. Crazy fun project. , 2

A lot of modeling tastes have changed over the years too. I'm just a modeling dinosaur havin' a good time. Edited September 29, 2021 by carbuilder1950

stitchdup Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 Very cool, it reminds me of the beetle rsi on steroids. The wheelarches are something I wouldn't have thought to do on a beetle but they work really well on this, giving a sorta japanese style to it 1
Zippi Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 That is just to kewl. I love the look. Looks like a Hover street sweeper ? 1
espo Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 Great creativity on the body styling. I like the paint work as well. Could also pass for a hover craft of some sort. 1
crazyjim Posted September 30, 2021 Posted September 30, 2021 I like it. appears to be some very nice body work done. 1
carbuilder1950 Posted October 2, 2021 Author Posted October 2, 2021 Thanks guys ?. At the time I built it I was in the mood for something a little "GOOFY."
bisc63 Posted October 2, 2021 Posted October 2, 2021 Has a modern "Deal's Wheels" vibe, which is a very good thing! 1

Not sure I'd call it goofy , it took some imagination and it turned out really cool ! It sure isn't any kind of Toon model . 1
Foxer Posted October 2, 2021 Posted October 2, 2021 Perfect fit with the body! Almost looks natural 1
