restoman Posted December 18, 2021 Posted December 18, 2021 I Dug this out of the collection of builts that never got put into a display cabinet, intending to clean the dust off and put it on a shelf. Built some 25+ years ago, I felt it deserved a little more love than the silver-painted trim allowed for. Foiled it, polished of a dust nib or two, swapped in some whitewalls, and gave it a good scrubbing. Comments always welcome. 2
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Love the 421 powered 65 2+2. I built it years ago in the color Mayfair Maize light yellow but forgot to do the chrome trim like you completed. I better dig it out and get busy. Thanks for showing your machine.
TransAmMike Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Beeee-utiful big Pontiac Mike, great color and overall build?
happy grumpy Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 I like to revisit older models, sometimes a little work and effort will give great resuslts as you demonstrated here. Cool model and great improvements.
espo Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Great looking paint finish. Nice to take an older build and give it a good detailing once in a while.
AMT68 Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 That looks great! I built one of these a couple years back (in a similar color) and have couple more of these 2+2's and Bonnevilles to build so I really admire this build.
Spottedlaurel Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 That looks fantastic, well worth the effort of tidying it up after all those years.
Eric Macleod Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 You've really captured the look with this one. Very nice.
restoman Posted December 22, 2021 Author Posted December 22, 2021 Thanks for the comments! I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. For all of it's shortfalls, it's still a great old kit.
StevenGuthmiller Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Very nice! Love the pooches! ? Steve
Snake45 Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Not my style at all, but there's no denying that's a fine model! Well done and model on!
Bills72sj Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 I really like what you have done. One of the prettiest 1:1 cars I have ever seen was 66 2+2 in metallic brandywine. Ooo Wee!
