The singer/actor who went by the stage name Meat Loaf passed away at the age of 74. His two biggest selling albums were Bat out of hell, and bat out of hell 2. He also played the bad guy Red in the Movie Blackdog, and of course Eddie in the Rocky Horror Picture show.................

Being only slightly older than Meat Loaf, his music was a big part of my own coming of age. Fond memories of seeing him in The Rocky Horror Picture Show countless times in Greenwich Village.  A few minutes ago I heard that he died of Covid-related complications with asthma as an underlying condition. RIP

Hope he made it to that paradise he could see by the dashboard light...

That song’s kind of a masterpiece, of which I’ve recently been thinking about for the past few weeks ironically.

Meatloaf was so unique

I remember watching him on Celebrity Apprentice. Came across as a really smart guy, not at all like his crazy professional persona.

That little moment between him and John Rich in the boardroom was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in my life. John Rich is an AWESOME human being.

.........one of the lyrics ....made a major impact to my teen perspective in life.

"You'll neverfind your gold on a sandy beach, You'll never drill for oil on a city street

I know you're looking for a ruby in a mountain of rocks......But ,there ain't no Coup de Ville hiding at bottom of a Cracker Jack box!"

One of his lyrics was running through my mind last week as I re-watched Glengarry Glen Ross: "Desperation, desperation's in the air, it leaves a stain on all your clothes and no detergent gets it out."

I guess the relevant lyric for today is "What about work? It's a crock and then you die." :(

I'll be rewatching Fight Club this weekend.

The radio station a guy listens to at work plays a few songs from BooH. Good stuff.

Sad day!

Another legend gone. I was in shock to hear this yesterday morning. We’re all losing a little bit of our youth years of music and Hollywood everyday. So sad. RIP Meatloaf. The angels welcomes you to the Paradise by the Dashboard Light of heaven.

RIP Meatloaf. In addition to him, we lost Betty White 77, Sidney Portier 94, Bob Saget 65, Singer Ronnie Spector 78 and Comedian Louie Anderson who passed away yesterday at 68 all this month.

Then I'm down in the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun,
Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike,
And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell
And the last thing I see is my heart, still beating,
Breaking out of my body and flying away
Like a bat out of hell....

RIP Meat, and thanks for all the tunes.
