1st time posting here, 1st model since the early 80s.
Though I’d try getting back into modeling and I may have bitten off more than I can chew with this one.
I cut out the floor to fit drag slicks and built new frame with polystyrene. Had to shorten fuel tank, frame still needs a little filling and sanding then I can figure out if I can use leaf springs or need to build a 4 link. Then prime and paint after it’s set up.
Hopefully I can make this work.

Got to respect a builder that is willing to jump into the deep end of the pool right off the bat after being away for a long time. So far it looks like you're getting the frame figured out.

Don't get discouraged if it doesn't go right together. There are plenty of pro street kits that you can pull parts from to build your dream. You can do a back-half chassis swap from the p/s kit and use the tubs, axle wheels & tires and even the tubbed part of the interior to make the job go easier.

Yep! The pro street amt GTX kit has some cool parts that should work with the Revell Charger....

That is indeed a step in a good direction.

Looking forward to more on this.

I agree! Wow, no easing back in, I like it. I’m a huge fan of pro street cars, so I’ll be watching. As mentioned above, a chassis swap might save you some work. Having said that, the work you have done looks good so far.

Cheers, Steve

Yeah, I've thought about pro tubing the Revell '67 gtx and Coronet bodies also... ??

I haven't done any test fitting on those yet....?

I admire your choice and your willingness to go "all in" from the jump. My 1st Pro Street attempt was a JoHan Javelin/AMX. It is a 20 footer. I am currently slowly Pro Streeting a resin 1970 El Camino. The next one planned is to be a 66 GTO.

The fun is just beginning. lol. All the work involved definitely has a good payoff to it though.

An up date on Charger project.
Going is slow here… can’t wait till retirement. Got the wheel tubs roughed in, they will be painted aluminum. Rear end is narrowed to size but I am going to have to abandon my original thoughts of using the stock leaf springs and fab up a 4 link…. Suggestions?

If it were me, I'd pick up the AMT '70 Coronet Pro-street. It's got everything you need. But, to answer your question, yes, a four link and coil overs is the way to go here.

Nice looking work on the Charger Dave.  Love those Pro Street cars & trucks.  I'm working on a 55 Pro Street right now.

Nice work so far. I scratchbuilt the 4 link on my 71 GTX using scrap PE metal, tubing and some "rod end" (or a close representation) parts on hand. Wasn't the easiest way to go but it was fun to do. And I didn't have to buy another kit to rob parts from.

Later-

Well this is sure going slow but I got the chassis in primer, a few fill and sand areas to do. And getting started wiring the engine.
At this pace, I might have this one completed by 2023.

Got a little more done today.
426 wired and ready, chassis in paint and tubs roughed out.
I think I’ve figured out the 4 link for the rear so that’s up next.

Got the chassis in paint and the wheel tubs are about there.
Engine is wired and ready after a little touch up and I think I’ve got the 4 link figured out.
Till next time.

Looking good. BTW, there's no need to start a new thread when you have an update, just add it to your original thread. The post will pop the thread to the top of the unread list. Most likely when the moderators see your posts, they will combine them for you.

Thanks, still trying to figure this out.
