Drove back to Georgia from Virginia yesterday. The long but beautiful stretch of I-40 east of Knoxville offered up several more songs for this thread.

Ace of Spades - Motorhead

Stone Cold Crazy - Queen

Head Like a Hole - Nine Inch Nails

Black Sunshine - White Zombie

Holy Diver - Dio

Having grown up in VA and knowing what a speed trap the entirety of I-81 can be on Sunday, I follow both the spirit and the letter of the law until I’m south of Bristol. It may not be safe to listen to the likes of Air Supply or Richard Marx until one is safely inside the Tennessee borders. ?

Interesting topic, quite a few of mine have been listed (especially Sex Type Thing, Running Down A Dream, Head Like A Hole).  Off the top of my head here are a few other bangers I'd choose...

Really anything by Pantera or White Zombie

Hellraiser - Motorhead or Ozzy

Train Train - Blackfoot

Highway Tune - Greta Van Fleet

Am I Evil? and Through The Never - Metallica

Black - Sevendust   Whenever I hear it now it reminds me of my first ride in a Hellcat Challenger at a Dodge thrill ride at a Mopar show near Minneapolis, the young guy driving it was playing it on the radio.  Good times!

Metallica- Motorbreath

Metal Church- Badlands or their cover of Highway Star

Morbid Angel- Opening of the Gates

Jerry Reed- Eastbound and Down

Pantera- Strength Beyond Strength

Megadeth- Hangar 18

Iron Maiden- The Trooper

AC/DC- A Touch Too Much

Six Feet Under- Manipulation

Pretty much anything from Danzig-era Misfits

On the other hand, No Stranger to Love by "Black Sabbath" is a good slow burn for lower speed cruising.

A few soundtracks I enjoy while driving--the soundtrack to the movie 'Drive' (synth wave/electronica), 'Heat' (mid 90s w/ some Moby), and 'Strange Days' (mid 90s also).   Listened to those 3 in the past on late night open road drives from Denver to Phoenix and Phoenix to San Diego at night across the voids...

Can't tell if you're being sarcastic or you agree. Whatever you think of those two artists (and they're not my favorites), those two songs ROCK.

I looked just like the guy with the Gibson Gold Top when this song came out.

Sadly, I can’t play guitar!
