1959scudetto Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 Old and sold - the convertible was the Matchbox/amt issue from 1979 (molded in dark blue plastic), unfortunately the tree with the clear parts and the stock wheels were missing which caused me to improvise. It has been brushed twice with Humbrol yellow because the blue was shining through (see inner fenders). The coupe (amt/ERTL) was spraypainted with car laquer from the can as was the Monogram '53 Hardtop. Trim on all three is brushed Humbrol silver, ww-tires Humbrol matte white, no further detailing. 8
bisc63 Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 Very nice looking models. I really like these old Chevy body styles. You've made some clean models, and your color choices are superb. I like the golden yellow color very much. Well done.
oldscool Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 I think all of them are beautiful. That's some very fine brush painting you did there.

I was intrigued by that shade of Humbrol yellow and was wondering if you could recall which # it was.
Bills72sj Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Nice trimwork on all 3. BMF or another technique? I also love the silver over red combo.

Thank you Eric, James, Rusty and Gerald for your nice comments: only the yellow convertible was brushpainted.

Thanks, Glen - I used paints that I had in my stash - no idea if any of them was factory correct (certainly NOT!) 11 hours ago, Bills72sj said: Nice trimwork on all 3. BMF or another technique? Thanks, David and Gary, these were old builds from the mid-80's, when my main focus was on American trucks and cars.
