MrObsessive Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 While we're at it and since Italeri is an Italian company, why not this one?? 1959 Fiat Abarth Zagato "Double Bubble".
Richard Bartrop Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 That Abarth would make a pretty sweet model, and they're so tiny, you could do a larger scale version that isn't too unweildy. It would make a nice companion piece to Italeri's 1/12 Fiat 500.

Would be nice, at the rate of delays Ebbro has getting their DS21 out, if they announced an SM it might be 2025...LOL. It also would likely be rather $$$. With that in mind I hit the "easy button" and got this 1/24 WhiteBox diecast that's pretty nice. It's attractive as a place-setter if there were ever or never a plastic kit offered, at about half the price of the Ebbro DS21 (that's still not out...). I'd like to do a color change on it , but it's easy to take apart to fix/personalize things to my own standards and so far I have fixed the ride height to get it out of the stratosphere while parked on my shelf and I enjoy models primarily from a design perspective so curbside w/o opening features is a plus:

Oldcarfan27 Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 Given the popularity of vintage Japanese cars in real life and since we're dreaming... These are some of my ideas - "bread and butter" cars (with optional race parts) Datsun, Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Mitsu Pickups, This last one, I'm dying to make a black "Marty McFly" version from Back to the Future. Honorable Mentions,

My Rite-Aid had three of them at one point--red, black, and I think white, or maybe it was silver. I ALMOST bought one, but they had an even Shinier Squirrel for me that week I just had to have.

Richard Bartrop Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 The Cisitalia and the Talbot-Lago in the back have my interest.

ATHU Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 A lot of great suggestions in this thread!! This 70 year old beauty would be nice as a plastic kit , the 1949 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Villa d'Este. Italeri maybe?

That would be nice, though when it comes to which Alfa would be a good model kit, the answer is pretty much "All of them" A Mangusta or a Monteverdi Hai in styrene? Yes, please!
1972coronet Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 One (somewhat) esoteric model , and a few truly-desirable models : A 100% NEW tooling of the vaunted 1971 Barracuda , PLEASE ! 1971 Swinger Special with Slant Six and 340 options ( the latter is a rare Canadian-only model ) . Needn't be a Squire --- a GT model will suffice ! ( the licence plate on the example above is eerily close to my old '70 GT ; its plate was '64 870 F' ! ). 1971 GMC Sprint SP-1 454 . Yes , the GMC embellishment could be optional to an El Camino SS-454 version. The Sprint's LS-5 ( 365hp 454 ) name was , "Invader 454" .
MrObsessive Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 I must have been thinking too loudly as I just ran across a 1/24 kit of this on the 'Bay. Not sure about its quality though (resin) and the price is a bit high for starters. We'll see..........

MrObsessive Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 OK, yet another grail that's bound to lighten my wallet! This and the Maserati Ghibli are on my badly wanted list!
espo Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 I think many of us have our favorite exotic car we would like to see modeled. But I wonder what current cars, and you have to include trucks and SUV's, would be financially viable for one or more of the modeling companies to produce today. I would like to see the present and last body style of the Charger. They are a popular seller in the 1:1 market and this should work well for Law Enforcement builders. The Mustang and Camaro models seem to be selling well so I think if say Revell would look at some of the other popular cars selling today there might just be a market for models of these cars.

DEFINITELY the latest Charger! Too bad they never saw fit to do the '99 Charger concept car. The current car takes some styling cues from that and I've always thought that it should have been the debut body style and NOT what they came up with for '06. While I'm not a fan of SUV's and Crossovers, I wouldn't mind seeing a new gen Cadillac Escalade done. Even a new Equinox would strike my fancy as they do look nice in certain colors. Some foreign subjects would be cool to see..........a new F-Type Jag, ANY new Aston would make my day. I'm STILL waiting for Revell (or someone!) to do a FULL detail new Mustang kit!

It would seem we share a pretty common view on what would make some interesting future models. I would also add the Alfa Romero's that have just come out. I know you have a very nice Challenger and I had an opportunity to get in one of the new Hell Cats on the dealers showroom floor. I just couldn't convince my wife that this is what we really needed, and we couldn't afford it anyway. But the point is I would love to build a model of it and I think it would sell well enough that Revell could show a profit by offering it. I agree with you on the Full Detailed offerings. This would be a must on any kit they offer.
stitchdup Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 I'd like to see some newer vw golfs, but they would have to be in 1/24. I would also like a 1/24 scirocco as the 1/25 amt engine bay needs a lot of work to be correct (I have one in progress) Some rs audis would also be cool
