KMcc Posted July 5 Posted July 5 I have quite a few favorites, but when this came out, I drooled over this.
Pierre Rivard Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Pantera... before the ruined it with fender flares and spoilers... 4
Bucky Posted July 6 Posted July 6 I have two in mind......early 70s 240Z and late 70s Mazda RX7. My choice for a recent offering is the Dodge Viper.

peteski Posted July 6 Posted July 6 None of the '80s Vettes to me fit the definition of a "sports car". To me sports cares are more esoteric vehicles like Ferraris or Lambos or similar. I like them all - I don't have one specific favorite. I really don't have a single specific anything I would call "my favorite". I like too many things to narrow it down to a single item. When I see all then "what's my favorite" threads I always wonder how can anyone narrow anything down to a one specific item.
Falcon Ranchero Posted July 6 Posted July 6 I like the Kaiser Darrin; fan of those doors that slide into the fender. 5

Radretireddad Posted July 6 Posted July 6 The only other car that can compete with the e-type in the looks department. 4

You are right I find it hard to pick one myself 1
Matt Bacon Posted July 6 Posted July 6 In increasing order of the likelihood of actually owning one: a 911 Reimagined by Singer, a Cayman GT4, an Alpine A110, a Lotus Elan, a regular Cayman, an Aston Martin DB7, a Jaguar XKR and an MX-5... best, M. 1
TarheelRick Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Love the lines of the Lola-GT Mk6. Saw one on Leno's Garage, it is a small car. I have a 1/32 scale Monogram curbside model that I need to refurbish. Wish it was available in full-detail 1/25 scale. 1

De Tomaso smoothed out all the problems of the original & made a deal with FoMoCo to market the cars through Lincoln/Mercury dealers. Not quite as pretty, but they managed to retain the original lines as designed by Ghia. Still, a classic car well ahead of it's time.

Pantera was quite different than the Mangusta, Styling, of course, was different. Pantera had monococque construction where the Mangusta had a separate central backbone chassis. 1
