Stopped by the LHS to pick up issue #207 and saw that they were giving 20% off their regular prices. I managed to find a Revell Germany Valliant Porsche 934. I've seen them at a regular retail of $39.95 and have gotten them for anywhere from 27 to 30 dollars. This was marked with a regular price of $28.95 so with the discount I got it for $23.15.

Tamiya re released TS Cobalt Green for their  1/12 Valliant 934.  Get some before it is gone. Nobody else makes it in a spray can.

I too hit the zoo that was Hobby Lobby today - picked up the 27 T kit, which I haven’t seen on their shelves for a while here (still no 29s though), and some various little metal doodads and paint and some black resin dye from the clearance section.  Oh, and some roughly-in-scale Mexican blankets ?

Let me start by saying that I don't usually do the Black Friday sale thing. Two weeks ago I scheduled the oil change on my car for today (didn't realize the date). I had some time to kill so I stopped by the LHS to find that they had a clearance on Testors spray paints. $1.00 a can and  .25¢ for bottles. I got 36 cans and 4 bottles. $265. of paint for $38.!!!

Later-

Wow - Hobby Lobby was a zoo today and nothing special in the model department and certainly no spray paints for those prices..  However, I did pick up this Autolite Specail  kit from an ex Ford employee whose father also worked for Ford and the Hasegawa kit came in the mail.

Very nice on both accounts!

What section did you get the "blanket" material, and did you also get the Spazstix at Hobby Lobby? if so, where dd they have that. I have not seen either of those in our stores.

Nice looking box art on that Mustang. I've never seen the Cobra kit. Pretty cool scores!

Later-

It is pretty much the same kit as the Mach1 show car.  The Iron Horse was a later release based on the same mold.  I am guessing that the Autolite version was a marketing gimmick because the show car sort of resembled a 67 Fastback and the Salt Flat record holder driven by Mario Andretti.  However the Salt Flat car was a highly modified 67 Mustang with an Indy Cammer engine and a wild set of headers and a clear hood to show off the wild engine.  Aside from the color of the kit and race car and a body style that is based on a fastback Mustang that’s about all the two have in common.  Nonetheless it is area kit and another example of AMT getting their monies worth out of a mold.

Went to see my old neighbor today, mentioned he had these and said was going to throw them out. Had to bring them home.

2 boxes full of old kits and parts, should occupy my time for awhile.

I would guess with dollhouse stuff? Do they carry that?

Hey all!  Yeah, @Straightliner59 is right - it’s in with the dolls house stuff.  Not QUITE in scale for 1/25 probably, but cool enough to add as a little eye-catcher for the right build:

@Modelbuilder Mark - yeah, they had one lonely bottle of the Spaz Stix clear in the clearance racks at our store (Valparaiso, Indiana) so I grabbed it.  Rang up at a buck 49, so I figured for that I’d find a use for it - it’s meant to be good over Alclad/Molotow/their own chrome to help protect it I guess, without dulling it?  Never tried it but now I can! ?

Thanks to a very good friend,  I was able to bring these home today.  I have been looking for a 1/8, '32 for a long while. The 53 Chevy was from a trade, and not pictured(because I forgot the pics before putting them away) are three Hubley models. One Duesenberg, a Chevrolet,  and a Model A.

Today I went to another LHS in the area that was discounting items for Small Business Saturday.  Picked up a Revell Porsche Panamera, an Aoshima  Galant A ( sold here as the Plymouth Sapporo and Dodge Charger in the late 70s/ early 80s), a Tamiya Suzuki Katana bike, and the reissue of the MPC '32 Imperial Roadster along with a couple cans of paint.

Interesting that they call the scale “1 1/2 Inch” on the box - that’s what I use for industrial design stuff that I do.  Never saw it on a kit box before!

Lmao this one was pretty good to deal with, an old retired fella. Been looking through everything 23 car and a bunch of parts. All the cars look like they can be restored.

Snagged this off feeBay because the price was about a third of "normal" prices.

Good find!  All those Revell "Classics" kits had very high retail prices originally.  Revell released a bunch of them in all different genres: cars, missiles, aircraft, armor, etc.  All the kits had that medal on the box, announcing they were limited to a run of 5,000 kits.  According to Scalemates, the Mercedes was re-issued in 2008.

Flea Market Day for me today, and probably the last one unless it warms up.  It was around 24 degrees there, with not many sellers.  I found an AMT-ERTL '71 Duster with the inner bags still sealed.  The older issue with the red car on the box.
