...but I’ve not seen a new car kit for a while now...Keep hoping they’ll get the Revell 30 Fords, but nothing yet…

Stopped at the Hobart HL today and snagged the only AMT '66 Fairlane 427 they had on the shelf. But that's the first new car kit I've seen there in months.

I'm also starting to wonder if they'll ever get the Revell A coupes.

I’ve been meaning to stop by there and see what they’ve got in stock compared to the Valpo store - did you happen to notice any of the hot rod kits that they’ve got in stock right now?

My local HL had one of those.  I almost bit on it, but I already have a few Fairlanes.

Was it ALL of the Evergreen and K&S on clearance or just certain lines?  Interested to see if they DO drop those from their line-up…

Today’s mail-call (excuse the big white sticker on the box)

FF093D9A-C5FE-4CB5-BDAF-EEDD7440FAB1.thumb.jpeg.703dc2f6bbb1a391f8b1c785f19d1ebf.jpeg

I want to build this thing, listed in the manual:

5D8B0A91-0649-4D78-B996-ED160148DDA9.jpeg.2c57d035341361d69f94524218cb3050.jpeg

I was wondering if the parts to build this were also in the recently-ish reissued two-in-one kit with the chopped T coupe on the box, but I think that’s an entirely different kit…pity, because I have 4 of those on my shelf already and none of the 23 T Roadster…

They are a different kit, Jim. And those '23 roadsters are getting hard to find now. I wish I had bought a couple when they were available.

But, the chassis from a Revell Buttera T kit should fit right under that with little or no problem.

Got this AMT '70 in a trade with fellow board member MK 11 this week. [Thanks again Mike!]

Really glad to get it and I plan to start on it as soon as I finish up the 2 cars I'm working on now.

Gonna need some body work in the rear 1/4s and a few other parts that I can source from a common AMT/MPC '69 that I have.

Biggest thing missing is the front bumper/grille assembly which is pretty hard do come by but I have a resin "cast off" coming from a member of another board. Not perfect but I should be able to work with it.

Plans are for a basically stock build in Grabber blue and black.

That's what I figured (but hadn't researched yet) - thanks Steve!  Appreciate you replying!

They had several of the Revell '29 A roadsters.  I suppose I should also include the AMT '34 Ford pickup - they had at least a pair of those.

That's pretty much it.  Several months ago I found the AMT chopped T (double) kit ONE time.  Kinda like the one time I saw the '64 Cutlass hardtop there.  Haven't seen another since - all they keep stocking is more of the convertibles.

I suppose the one positive note is that this was the most kits I've seen on their shelves so far this year, so they obviously restocked recently.  On several previous visits the shelves were 2/3 empty.

My Wooster Ohio Walmart and Hobby Lobby score today. I bought the metallic tape to try to use like bare metal foil on side trim.

Our toy show setup day was Saturday and I scored an unbuilt Tamiya 1/12th scale Lotus 72D and the Rat Fink edition International cabover that was $11 (!) cheaper than anywhere else I've seen it. I suspect there will be more purchases  tomorrow when I sell some of my stash.

Sorry.  I took one at the contest. There were so many great models and friends there. Just like old times (2 years ago).  There was far cooler builds there.  965ECC56-D28C-418C-9A72-11DF118D709D.thumb.jpeg.a577e26617ea6f7c3a6f3d9b28ed7b94.jpeg

Purchased a few items at yesterday’s swap meet in Warren, MI.  The mustang is for a buddy that just bought one and is going through/modifying it to drive this summer.  The trailer I got going already and a few wired distributors and misc parts too…..D4ECB5FE-ED55-4680-A675-159E58E9D584.thumb.jpeg.928d3c1289c524699163d3e2a27fcdaa.jpegEB4B437B-966F-49A2-BFE5-4A02AEEFE397.thumb.jpeg.a1fe1bc2159314ed519036af051eb6dc.jpeg95922843-8AA4-4024-9188-7C22BB67C129.thumb.jpeg.577b3a3899f20e0b45b43657ef6796b2.jpeg

From the D.A.A.M show yesterday.

Had a great time. A vendor had a huge Testors stock pile he was unloading. all old stuff. $10.00 for 6 cans of dullcote. Never seen so many little testor bottles in one spot.

I don't like to buy stuff off of ebay if I don't have to but sometimes it's the only game in town.  Got a Ford Firestone cab (messed one up) and 3 frames with running gear from the big game GMC. A seller was selling parts. I was going to get them all from HL but they ran out of both kits.

One of the better scores I’ve had lately…I was looking for a Revell Deuce roadster kit, and found this one that had just been listed at $30 buy it now.

Nothing remarkable about that, except there was a BUNCH of extras in there…the entire Revell kit plus half of an AMT ‘Vickie’ Deuce kit, an extra Replicas and Miniatures body with a hardtop and a couple of Duvall windshields:

Some cheesy old photoetch (and some little bits of good stuff mixed in there too):

Some Arrowhead Aluminum stuff (guess someone got lucky and actually received their order…):

A bunch of tires, including some resin re-pops of what look like the Testor’s Alumacoupe ones:

Plus these cool shift knobs, from a company I hadn’t heard of before:

And, to cap it all off a complete Curbside Dioramics metal Deuce frame kit:
