Rob Hall Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 As an adult, I've lived in Ohio, Michigan, Colorado and Arizona. Arizona was a one plate state, bought my current Jeep there in 2017, it didn't have a front bracket..moved to Ohio right after I bought it, had to get a front bracket installed. Then a few years ago, Ohio switched to being a one-plate state..so I took off the front plate and put a Jeep logo plate on it, my 2019 Cadillac I recently bought has a front bracket, put a Cadillac logo plate on it, and on my '87 Mustang GT put a vintage Ford Motorsport plate on the front. 1

When we moved here, we were deciding whether to live on the Kansas side of the state line or Missouri. The license plate issue was actually part of the decision when we were deciding. You're not alone when it comes to not liking a front license plate. New Mexico also issues only 1 plate, too. Here in Iowa we are issued both plates but seems that not displaying the front plate isn’t a big concern. I’ve seen more than one vehicle running with no front plate, and I have never put one on my old truck. I’ve never been pulled over for the missing plate. Edited June 1, 2024 by #1 model citizen

Shouldn’t be a big concern because it’s silly. It’s just a bit extra - like what’s the point? So incase we missed you from the back? We got you from the front? Or incase you lose one you got a spare? lol

You're not alone when it comes to not liking a front license plate. I'm in Maryland, both front and back required. I can see where It has it's advantages for law enforcement. I personally never gave it much thought since it's all I've been accustomed to. Just as John stated above some individuals just refuse but in MD. it's just one of many violations that is used as probable cause to pull you over. Edited June 1, 2024 by A modeler named mike 1
chunkypeanutbutter Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 Dual dually trucks! I already have plans for the Chevy, a replica of one that a customer drives at work. Some work to do there. I may backdated the Ford to a 1980 or '84. 4
ewetwo Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 (edited) I didn't get this. But if anyone is looking for a Renwal Packard and you live in the Syracuse, NY area. I've always wanted the Packard but too far for me to drive (4 plus hours one way). But can't beat the price. Other photos of the kit looks complete. They will not mail it to you. I've begged them to. If you get it. Tell the woman David John told you. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/3561864397369405/?ref=category_feed&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3Aeface8db-414c-47e5-a667-27989927bb63 if this isn't allowed. 1930fordpickup Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 While at hobby lobby i picked up the Mustang in a tin box. Postage Stamp kit. Another prostreet Chevelle along with the 1966 Chevelle kit. I am a sucker for the 1966 box art series. 1
oldscool Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 Went to Hobby Lobby yesterday to grab another Demon kit and saw the 60 Ford pickup and bought it instead. After looking through the contents all I can say is great job round2. 2
Keef Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Picked up some acrylic paints at Walmart. For .58 cents each you really can’t beat it. 4

NOBLNG Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 (edited) I had to go to Thunder Bay, Ont. with the wife. While here, I figured I would look up hobby shops for something to do this afternoon. Found a great little shop called Lakehead Models. They have a whole bunch of open boxes and parts boxes that they got from an estate and were asking $3.00 each or 4 for $10.00?. Needless to say I grabbed a bunch. Some are complete kits, some are missing parts and some are just a mish-mash of bodies and parts in odd boxes. I’ll have to wait till I get home to really dig through them to see what I have.? They threw in a few for free so I averaged $2.20 per box.? Edited June 3, 2024 by NOBLNG 15

Big John Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 I couldn't resist and just received a 1/35 scale De Dion Buton Trike. The company obviously caters to the military modeler, but this is a highly detailed cast and photo etched kit. Hand mastered in brass and cast in gray resin. Now I remember why I gave up on my 1/43 kits. 8
Lownslow Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Not retiring the little one i just wanted a bigger one, the price was less than what i paid for the little one 4
Bill Eh? Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 Friends recommended this material for cleaning hobby files. I purchased this "industrial" size block from Ali Express for $11 delivered. It is 6" x 3" x 1". It only took 9 days. Similar items, (Staedler or General Gum Erasers) would cost almost the same for 2-packs of 2" x 1" x 1/2" erasers. I can cut this block down and give pieces to car modelling friends. 5
Bill Eh? Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 So, after experimenting with sawing (razor saw, ineffective choice) and cutting (hobby knife, better choice), I ended up with 9 pieces. Each piece is the equivalent of two General GUM erasers. Lots to share with my car modelling friends. 5
Cool Hand Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Engine accessory kits for the DDA Holden LC and LJ Torana kits. 3
