It sands, it’s a lathe, it band-saws, it drills (soon as I get the rest of the attachments…) - every young kid should have one!

I don’t really NEED this (in fact, it’s sitting next to much more serious tools on the bench that do this stuff better) but I love the idea of using an old (and surprisingly competent) kid’s toy to work on kits from this same era

Indeed. I have had three of these kits. Two I bought new in the 80s had clear glass. I bought another off epay about ten years ago and was surprised (and bummed) to find it had dark smoke tinted glass.

I had delivered the Revell version of the E-Type Jaguar, after various problems with the two halves of the Heller version not being compatible, the top of the body much wider than the bottom half. This is to complete the rat version recently on TV here in the UK.

Not me, but my son received some resin parts, and a very elaborate decal sheet for one of the Goodsmile racing Mercedes. He normally builds Gundams, but is going to build his first car kit since he was quite young. I'm looking forward to this build.

i would not have any issues with the tinted glass if it does have it  since i will be converting it to a right hand drive layout and doing a mild custom job to it

I got some parts for my Cannonball entry from Etsy. Got a pair of binoculars, a cassette recorder, and some assorted things that would have been used in 1975.

A new book (to me) on models.  In the hour I have thumbed through looking and reading bits - I am impressed.  I remember reading many an article by Tim Boyd in model magazines.  This book will not disappoint anyone anyone that builds, collects or appreciates the box art of models and I highly recommend it. 👍  IMG_8511.JPG.881dbe4f9ed393bb3baa55e44f66c1d9.JPG

It was very interesting to read the development of the same MPC Barracuda kits I have in my collection.

This will sure help make the negative temps of February much more tolerable.  Why shove snow when I can read !

I will be placing a order for the "Collecting Drag Racing Model Kits" in the future by same author.

Nice! I have a couple of Tim's books, but have yet to pick up this one.

I did not know MPC released a Sox & Martin '72 Cuda.

It wasn't a Sox & Martin car, but rather a nearly stock Barracuda with Sox & Martin decals.

The '72 Challenger annual kit had Motown Missile decals patterned after the '71 car (the '72 was a Barracuda), and the '72 Duster had Arlen Vanke decals though the kit itself had only the small-block engine with no speed equipment and only a handful of other optional parts.  The decals were okay by MPC 1972 standards, but better ones have been made for all three cars since then.
