I bought another can of that Rustoleum Clear Gloss Lacquer at Walmart today, having had good luck with the first can I bought last week. They only had one can left--I was thinking that there were only two last week, and I seem to recall looking for it there for awhile with no luck. I'll keep my eye out for more. You what they say, if it's any good, stock up because Walmart will stop carrying it.

They had ONE can on the shelf again this morning. I bought it.

Three '67 Impala wheelcovers on the upper left, plus a pair from a '62 Tempest on the upper right. Time for another mold...

Chris I have been looking for a long time for some wheel covers they came in the old 57 Chevy pepper shaker. They are smooth and come to a point. I don’t know what they are called. Do you know?

They are referred to as a "custom bladed cap" on the instruction sheet:

Maybe someone can post a pic of the actual wheel and we can dig through our parts boxes for a set. I'm pretty sure I had at least one, but just traded off my extra wheels to another member.

Thank you Casey, I will search for some..

After hearing less than stellar reviews on the AMT '67 GTO model kit I debated purchasing one. Finally decided I wanted to accept the challenge and see what I could do with one. Opened the box upon receiving today in the mail and I have to say it will take some time and patience to build this one. But it's all good though.

Could start by ordering a set of the correct front seats for it.

Got a Jo-Han 1964 Cadillac DeVille coupe.  The body is decent (vent windows are broken, but I can fix that).  Got the body, chassis plate and hood.  Also picked up a front bumper.  I'll piece her together as I go.  Got it for $25.  :)

Those look good but I'll probably just fill the hole in the top of the seats I have if I don't wish to use the headrests that come with the kit.

Nice score. Those kit values have soared in the past couple of years.

Seats are wrong overall. They are '72 seats, it's not just the headrests.

Carl,

Are these the ones you are looking for?

If you want to throw enough time and skill at it, it can be built into a decent model, though. I know this for a fact. I've done it

I actually occasionally enjoy investing the time in not so great kits. While my skills are definitely still a work in progress I was reasonably satisfied with what I did with the MPC '79 Trans Am.

Glad to hear Rustoleum's Gloss Lacquer performs well as I purchased a can online a month ago and wondered about it's capabilities.

That's different from what I've been buying at Walmart. Mine doesn't say Acrylic. Different label graphics too. It MIGHT be the same stuff, but I'd advise you to do your own testing before committing it to a good paint job.

Okay, well thank you for the information on the clear coat.

Bernie, the Revell RS60 was silver styrene.
Really looks like a heavily fiddled one.
Could you pm me the seller id if moment?

My second Senna arrived today in the mail.

This weekend is the annual 24hrs of Daytona Group Build over on FB.https://www.facebook.com/groups/249066333773007420210121_231256.jpg.de18e3b7af4361dc423c0564107e387c.jpg

Originally I was planning on doing another of the Mustang GT4's but now that I've had a chance to pick at my first Senna a bit

I think I can honestly finish one in 24 hrs so I'll be switching to the Senna for this year's build.

I'll try to keep a WiP for the 24hr build updated over the weekend.

Just ordered an italeri mk2 escort rally car so I can use the bumpers on my cannonball build. Since they had it I also got the photo etch set as the one in my stash somehow got buckled so the grilles are near useless for the cannonball build but should work for a beater.

I found this Rustoleum MATTE Clear in Walmart last week.  Haven't had a chance to try it out yet.  Has anyone else used this stuff?
