StevenGuthmiller Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I saw this.....uuuh, thing, parked at a local business today. I threw up in my mouth a little!! Looks like a big fat barn spider with the legs pulled off! Steve
Scott Colmer Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 I don't have pictures, but I believe her.... My wife came home and told she saw the original (Barris) Batmobiile driving down the street. Grey haired guy with a cigar was driving it in Riverside, CA. Gotta love SoCal.
Rodent Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) My commute home takes me on a route routinely used by trucks taking salvage cars to auction. Last night's selection included a rather nice looking 62 (?) Skylark 2 door HT that took a hit in the driver's door. Door, quarter, fender, and probably A-pillar looked to be damaged. The70judgeman Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 (edited) Went out twice today. On the way home from the first trip there was a red '68 Chevelle SS396 parked on the side of the road. The second time out, with my wife, as I was pulling into the local Menard's there was a blue '68 Charger R/T leaving. Once in the parking lot there was a creamy yellowish '71(2?) Olds Cutlass Convert(the only pic of all the cars I saw today). On the way home there was a blue '69 Chevelle SS going the other way. Also a red '65(6?) Mustang Convert. unclescott58 Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 (edited) Saw it in the parking lot where I work. A completely restored 1969 Shelby GT 500, 428 Cobra jet. White with blue striping & a black interior. This is not it, but an exact replica. There are no palm trees in Minnesota! Steve No palm trees in Minnesota? But you do live in southern Minnesota. Are you sure you don't have them down there? I could have sworn the last time I was down there............ Scott Edited June 28, 2015 by unclescott58

Tom Geiger Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 We had palm trees in New Jersey... for at least one summer. There was a boardwalk miniature golf course that had them all around the course. Come fall they just walked away and the trees died as it got cold. That became a big deal in the local newspaper, with the tree huggers complaining about this crass attitude towards life and tree killing. The one that makes me laugh is photos of Aruba beaches in front of the big hotels with palm trees. They don't grow there! The island is one big lava rock and it's too hot and dry for palm trees to grow. So all the palms you see there are imported and planted. And if you look close, they all have watering rings around their bases.
unclescott58 Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I wonder how a palm tree might look in front of the entrance to the igloos we all live in the in non-southern parts of Minnesnowta? Scott
landman Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 In someone's driveway, licence says 32Woody. Likely, only the grille is '32. Still neat though.
Badluck 13 Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Didn't see it today but last week when Baby Girl n I were in St. Petersburg Beach for vacation,it was parked in the V.I.P. section at the resort we were at. Baby Girl was the one who noticed it first and she was quite thrilled being it was her first in person Ferrari .........
SSNJim Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Saw a Rod Shop Barracuda (70-75 vintage) on an open trailer somewhere on the backroads of VA in the I-81 corridor. It looked brand new, so it was probably a repro.
Tom Geiger Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Yea, love that the Ferrari had been planted right in the middle of the two electric vehicle recharging stations!
Earl Marischal Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Sadly no pics but today has produced a blue Maserati Grand Tourisimo Sport and, even more amazing for the UK, real hot rod. It was 32 Ford 5 Window in chocolate brown, with cream steels, big dog dish caps and chrome rings. Couldn't see the mill as went past on the other side of the road. A big surprise was it had no mudguards (fenders). I think open wheels are illegal on the road here. steve
Joe Handley Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 '33-'34 Pro Street Ford yesterday, then a '55 or '56 Ford 2dr sedan tonight at the gas station Dad and I changed his flat at.
Tom Geiger Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Yesterday I was headed to the beer store and I did a double take. There was a Model T Phaeton traditional (dare I say rat) rod, sitting at a stop sign waiting to get out on the highway I was on. It was fenderless, hoodless and really cool. It was a pale worn yellow. I'd say it was a hopped up 4 by the sound it made as it went by! On the way home, I witnessed 6 lanes of highway traffic come to a dead stop to allow a flock of geese to cross the road. If I was back in NJ there would have been feathers everywhere!
peter31a Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 It can get interesting about the wildlife. About 3 weeks ago I was heading southbound into Barrie, Ontario, the nearest city to me, when the traffic slowed to almost a stop. I was rather surprised as it was early on a Sunday morning and the cottage country exodus hadn't really started yet. Anyway it turned out there were about 4 adult geese and around 30 goslings running down the slow lane. Just after I got past the raging horde it came on the radio to be careful because of them and that someone had been called to try to get them out of there.
GLMFAA1 Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Getting gas the other night and a Ford Ranger at the next pump, blue over silver dropped suspension, custom bed cover, all slick body, filling the tank inside the bed, powered by 302, greg
landman Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Not on the road but on a truck at the Flying J, about $300,000 of Aston Martin Vantage.
Joe Handley Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Passed this monster on the the way to fill my 200 after work.http://nebula.wsimg.com/6360e8a7a48556b0d4675c697378c360?AccessKeyId=36DBE1E33E4F4470E95B&disposition=0&alloworigin=1 Saw this again on my way to work today!
Tom Geiger Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Not on the road but on a truck at the Flying J, about $300,000 of Aston Martin Vantage. Wow! That's an odd way to transport such an expensive car... how did they get it up there? Series of ramps? Or once the owner was out of sight, did they just jam a fork lift under it?
wayne swayze Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 On the highway going in the opposite direction.....caught my eye from quite a distance. ?..a yellow '49 Merc....chopped top, and I'm POSSITIVE that it was built by Ron Box, by the outstanding quality of workmanship. He lives in a nearby village, so I'm sure it was him. If you get the chance to see his cars, please stop and look at quality custom work! And they're drivers!
slusher Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Saw a beautiful bright red 39 Chevy with baby moons all around. Passed it for a good look...
