What did you see on the road today?

Recommended Posts

A bright yellow Lancer Evo at the gas station, also filling up on E85, kid driving said the car was putting 450hp at the wheels on the stuff. Then within a few blocks of the hospital Mom is in, I saw a dark blue pre-war Plymouth 5 window coupe and a mid 60's Stingray roadster!

I saw this driving to the exotic Car Show in Hershey, Pa yesterday. The owner is a New York City Divorce Lawyer. The license plate was interesting. The light green is the original color the rest is a wrap and trim tape. It looked like chrome missile coming down the road.

Sitting at a stoplight at an I35 overpass in Schertz, TX, this morning, some sort of Ferrari made a left in front of me (don't know my Ferraris like I should, so I don't know what model--wouldn't even have been sure it was a Ferrari except for the yellow emblem on the fender and the sound as it took off). Still waiting at the light and a late '70s Pontiac Firebird Trans Am went by going the other way. Beautiful deep orange metallic with a gold firebird on the hood, snowflake wheels--very sharp.

Agreed. And the kids who broke out the windows should be beat with a stick!

There's a place we go on the coast to get seaweed for garden fertilizer. On the way there, there's what I think is a late fifties Rambler by the side of the road. Been there for at least twenty plus years, and someone shot the windshield out years ago.

Yesterday, on my detour off and then back onto the freeway, there was a Reliable Transport rig unloading a car. That one, a Corvette, wasn't the one that caught my eye. It was the one on the lower tier at the side entrance door...a black '66 or '67 GTO. This morning, I saw a '66 or '67 Polara or maybe a Newport. Not exactly sure. On my way home from work tonight there was a Silver '77 or '78 Trans Am on the side of the road.

On a side note. Something you don't see everyday around here. From the road :D, I saw a FA-18 Hornet coming in for a landing at Mitchell Airport. There is a National Guard Air-refueling unit based there, but no fighters are. Just a little unusual. Even with the driver-side window cracked and music blaring, man that plane was LOUD!

Last night after a local Cruising Night I was just Cruising around with my '60 Impala and then I saw this Chevy Caprice parked in side of the road. It was in pretty good condition and basically the only thing I didn't quite like was the fact that it had those barber shop ads on both sides.

First really decent weekend around here and poof....cars are coming out! Went to Culver's, a burger chain mostly here in Wisconsin, and there was a late 80's/early 90's(?) Mustang GT convertible and a black on black 1970 GTO  that stopped me in my tracks...twice. On the way home from Culver's there was a '39(?) Chevy sedan(humpback) hot rod/street rod(however you want to look at it). And finally, right before I turned onto my street at the stoplight, an '85 or '86 Buick Grand National. All within a mile or so of home and I didn't bring MY PHONE!
