Another My Furry Valentine is in the books.  Seven years ago, a local event started around Valentine's Day to of local rescues and shelters getting together in one place to help facilitate animal adoptions.  658 animals were adopted this weekend bring the total to over 6,600 adoptions since it started.  The rescue I've worked with didn't participate this year so I went down to help set up/tear down one of the shelters that one of my foursome came from.  It makes the wife nervous that #5 will somehow be coming home with me.....

I have had a couple of the Nuclear tests and I agree this is what a heart attack must be like. Last year with a new Cardiologist he wanted the old fashion tread mill. He agrees with me in that it is a more realistic reading on your vitals.    Now if he'd just get some fresh crackers for your after snack.

When do they decide you need the test?

The last time I had a stress test they didn't have the nuclear stuff on hand so I,had to do the treadmill. It causes me extreme back pain so it elevates my heart rate even faster!

They decided after it was done that the results would be skewed so didn't  use them in the end.

Still billed me though!!!

I had changed Cardiologist this last year. The Medical Group at the local Hospital has been going thru almost a complete change over of Doctors over the last 3-4 years when another Investment group took over the Hospital. This is my third Cardiologist in three years. At least this guy seems a little more interested in my personal health. Rather than writing the same prescription over again  he wanted a fresh test on my condition and he wanted the Tread Mill test as he felt that to be the most accurate. He also had an Imaging of my heart done at the same visit. . He has indicated that now that he feels I'm stable he will be testing my blood a couple of times a year and retest if anything changes with my blood test and do the Cardio Test every couple of years   The Nuclear  Test were very hard for myself and would leave me exhausted for at lest a couple of days afterward.  I had a Stent in the "Widow Maker" artery 10 years ago and at that time my only symptom was shortness of breath after a flight of stairs or any hiking.

I don't know when the last time you had a real stem to stern physical by a General Practitioner  but this might give you a better idea of what may be going on. The specialists that I have visited thru the years while very good at their area that seems their focus and don't look very far beyond for any other health issues. I'm fortunate in that I don't have MS and really don't understand all that is involved there. In my case my GP was doing a Physical because of my fatigue problems and detected an irregular Heart beat. That was in 2002 and he sent me to the Cardiologist who did a Heart Catheter and found the blockage. I was just about your age at the time.    We're all different in many ways but I do think we need to listen to our bodies and what they may be trying to tell us. Our bodies are an amazing organism and we just keep finding new ways to damage it. Good luck on your health and for your own piece of mind think about a good Physical from a good GP.

Went to feed the chickens this morning and found this. Looks like that crazy storm that went through the area last night blew a decent sized branch down. The pleasing part is that it didn't land on the henhouse or the fence, and we still have all of our hens.

And now they're using the branch as one big jungle gym ?

Mine could go In either category, irked or pleased, Sunday wife goes to pick up some missed ingredients for dinner and the pick up pukes out on her so I take the big truck down to see what's up. Put pickup in gear engine dies out tried holding high RPM to get it home same thing, so leave pickup at grocery store and have it towed on Monday. So at this point I'm beyond irked because I cant find my code reader (that I likely put someplace stupid) and cant get it home. So it stays over night, then goes on an tow truck 65.00. Gets ride to shop, me thinking torque converter, turns out to cam position sensor and it came home for another 300.00 running good, so all in all good day.
