  1. good use of evergreen.
  2. Do you have photos of what was sent? Someone could query Mark if a reference photo was included...
  3. I don't recall seeing Harry make personal attacks like you appear to have done here.
  4. It's kinda sad really, if only people knew that this museum was run by modelers, for modelers in an effort to celebrate and admire builders from the past that did remarkable things without the aftermarket we have now. The innovators of the past have pushed the hobby to where it's at today. I really enjoyed seeing (in person) award winning models that I have only seen in magazines from many years in the past, and hearing stories told by people that were featured in those old magazines.
  5. must have been some admin intervention, don't see it ( am really curious what Mark had to say). All I've seen was the gauntlet Mark threw down (as posted by another member).
  6. bummer on losing the bird to your sister. I was in a Pontiac car club in the 80's, we put on "All Pontiac Day" in Fountain Hills AZ for a couple years. I had a 68 bird, picks are posted in the 1:1 rides thread (way back in the thread), but sold it after I got my 67 Tempest running and painted. Wish I could have kept them.
  7. WOW, you guys are right!!! and there's some race cars and large scale cars in there too!!! OMG!!! I CAN'T HANDLE THIS!!! STOP THE INTERWEBS, THIS IS A TRAVESTY!!!! I could go on but I don't really care if you no longer come here.
  8. I look forward to seeing how this turns out. I wish I'd seen this while you were doing body work, the shape of the upper "beak" on the front bumper could have been corrected then. FYI, the license plate on these bodies folded down to get to the fuel filler. Maybe adding a round cap like vettes had but use a firebird instead of bow ties...
  9. Please stop the unhelpful comments regarding your personal views of other peoples suggestions, this is neither respectful nor helpful to Harry's family.
  10. That is a very pretty engine with the added details. Since I am very familiar with Pontiac engines, the rivet counter in me has some issues with certain details, but what has been added has been done well.
  11. I would have to say, yes... builders do this. A GSL best paint winner used many parts from die cast cars to produce a "2-seater" 58 T-Bird. The choices were well thought out and incorporated in a way that enhanced the build. There may be some that question usage of "die cast" parts but I consider them a resource as valid as aftermarket dress up parts. Be careful to check contest rules if you intend to enter a contest with builds using die cast parts, you may be disqualified if you don't repaint "prepainted" parts.
  12. Please don't sell anything till you contact The Model Car Museum at http://www.themodelcarmuseum.org/Contact_Us/contact_us.html The Museum goal of preserving the works or people that contribute to a hobby that is enjoyed by so many will benefit everyone that gets to see Harry's work if it should go to the museum (I know I would like to see it if given the chance). Or contact Gregg Hutchings by email directly since he doesn't spend much time here and may not see this thread, here is the contact email as listed in Model Cars Magazine : gregg@modelcarsmag.com
  13. did they put 68 camaro doors on it? all the 67 camaros I see in google have vent windows on the doors. I seem to recall that 1968 was the year GM went to "astro-ventilation" which meant door glass without "wing windows"... but maybe that was only for firebirds.
  14. Here are just a couple more... (click the link and choose the slideshow button for best results) https://www.flickr.com/photos/blunc/albums/72157680072305424 IMG_6448 by Mike, on Flickr
  15. you left out channeled
  16. so, it's 1AM at the GSL26 host hotel and there's no place open in walking distance that has cold medicine. ARRRRGGGGGG!!!!!!
  17. that's some great chassis info considering I have some Trumpeter kits on the "way back burner".
  18. I concur, that is some excellent detailing.
  19. I can understand having a thread dedicated to subject most dear to your heart, but consider these items... -Even when Harry P was here and active, there was no special section for "vintage" vehicles, which would have been a "no brainer" considering Harry's demonstrated preference for vintage vehicles. -Forum users already seem to have a problem posting in threads most appropriate to their posting subject. (I.E., if you are posting WIP/Under Glass of a truck/pickup, it should be posted to the "trucks" threads....right?) -You may be missing a piece of needed info or building tip if you are only browsing your favorite thread.
  20. you might be able to get away with an EM pulse since the shopping center is mostly vacant... maybe a PA system that plays their carpy music back 180deg out of phase...
  21. Dunning-Kruger... I had to laugh when I read that Wiki. (and my wife lol'd also)
  22. finally..., something to use the Pyro Auburn Speedster as a starting point.
  23. make snickerdoodles
