  1. I have never been one to be fascinated with "numbers matching" or auto provenance. My preference is to use or enjoy machinery whether its a tool or a vehicle. Since the firewall is black, a cad colored brake booster would have added a little contrast that would have made it more visible. I'm not knocking your artistic license since I respect and admire your work. When I get the time, I hope my projects look half as good as yours.
  2. that is a beautiful engine bay. though I am surprised you went with black for the brake booster rather than cad anodized.
  3. that is some great info, thanks for sharing with everyone.
  4. beautiful
  5. didn't the six million dollar man crash one of these? nice build of unusual subject.
  6. I built this from the Datsun kit in the mid '80s
  7. can I get an AMEN?
  8. that's just one of the problems with the "ME"-llenials, there's so many of them...
  9. sorry Don, I thought I was generic enough with my comments
  10. good luck Russ, I know how sucky the tech job market is here at the surface of the sun. While I have permanent type job, it barely has anything to do with my acquired skill set or degree in electronics...so I keep looking for a needle in a haystack that's not a temp job or contract job.
  11. this car has some interesting innovations for the time. however, the subject photo is not factory stock.
  12. it looks to be similar to the engine ford used in various mustangs and tbirds
  13. ? if this motor is actually 427 based, I would call them BBF headers okay, nevermind. silly me, failed to research and see that this motor is small block based and not based on ford's older 427 block.
  14. hmm... the 62 t-bird headlights and grille might have worked on this also...
  15. I'm feeling a little bit envious right now...
  16. Unless you're working on a large scale steering wheel, I think bread ties will be too large to look like "scale" steering wheel wrap. The closest thing I can suggest would be to use fishing line to wrap the steering wheel then sand it till it is flatter but still hast the spiral appearance.
  17. If no one wants the magazines, you could submit them to Goodwill or Salvation Army. That way they wouldn't go directly in the trash and some or all of them may be purchased by some builder short on funds. You may be able to get a tax deduction if you choose to itemize and claim value of the magazines. In Arizona there are "used book stores" that give store credit in exchange for magazines, this may be an option where you live.
  18. I see what you did there.
  19. haven't been able to spot one that used that style of motor.
  20. some large lindberg kits had lights in addition to being "motorized"
  21. pics or it didn't happen.
  22. will you be using a surface mount LED? anything larger would seem to stick out like a sore thumb (IMHO)
  23. was it a two door fastback also?
  24. was it the "life is hard..." quote?
