  1. brings back memories of frosty days at cold weather survival training at Bridgeport Ca. got so hot, was down to a t-shirt for a little while.
  2. from the movie Damnation Alley and a tv show I don't remember right now.
  3. with a little extra attention and some kit bashing, unique builds that are not available in larger scales can be achieved. I have one of the '34 Plymouth sedans that I'm planning on building up as a tribute piece to the '34 Dodge sedan build at the Kindigit shop.
  4. sounds like a new community build theme
  5. the term I learned was "wing windows" although vent windows was used a lot also. you knew a car was top of the line when it had power quarterlights.
  6. Hrmmm, it would be way too easy to start poking at the people who posted here that don't seem to appreciate this particular thread... Just because this is (basically) social media, doesn't mean you HAVE to post something. I'd hazard a guess that if all the people that have posted negative comments here had just ignored this thread that it would have expired quietly a couple days ago. Was there some Jedi mind trick that reached out and MADE you type garbage in a thread you don't have any appreciation for? Honestly, take a second to read your reply before you click the submit button and try to decide if what you want the world to see is actually "on topic" for the thread and could be considered to be participating in a generous way to discussion. I'm not saying that I have response to the original post, but since I have served in the forces that made it so we all have the ability to be bone headed in front of the whole world, I will support the original poster's right to post too much information.
  7. I see what you did there.
  8. let's just remove the warning labels and the problem will sort itself out eventually... as long as no one is allowed to sue for misuse of product.
  9. is that a preservative?
  10. that's great. kind of like Mad Max mixed with Planet of the Apes.
  11. that shot may have been taken when she was just "Norma Jean".
  12. I would be interested in the history/views of anyone that has been involved in the car/model car industry. Even people that merely worked at Car Model magazine will probably have some interesting stories. I get a kick out of the old "letters to the editor" sections...still reads the same as these forums.
  13. Why not? They are great for young builders and old builders that remember seeing them in person.
  14. we could start a list of Cobra "versions" for you to explore.. let's see... Cobra submarine Cobra jet ski Cobra Roomba Cobra lawn mower Cobra mobile artillary
  15. http://www.desertscaleclassic.com/Hyperlink fixed
  16. nice find Brad. great job re-purposing the jewelry.
  17. have you considered a Terraplane style grille/shell? I think that style may flow better with the other styling you have done.
  18. best to use a photo site like Fotki, Photobucket, Flickr,etc.... to upload your photos to then link to them in your posts to the forum there are a few threads on this down in the Off Topic thread.
  19. really like the outside photos, great looking build.
  20. the revell 1/32 snap-tite has torque thrust wheels, I got a couple of these a while ago just for the wheels. http://i916.photobucket.com/albums/ad9/tramhl/Plastic Models/Reviews/132 07 Shelby Mustang/IMG_9015.jpg
  21. slot car wheel sets are your best option.
  22. I think Eva was cuter.
  23. Allen is correct, there is no easy fix even if you know what you are doing. Data recovery on cranky hard drives is usually not worth the cost mainly because they can charge you whatever they want to...you are at their mercy. I have seen some places that can replace the hard drive circuit board and get the drive working but...no guarantees that what was on the drive platters will still be readable in a way that you could make use of it.
