  1. I started subscribing to MCM as soon as I learned it existed and will continue to subscribe as long as there is a print form of the magazine. Anyone one that still enjoys this hobby and this web forum should seriously consider some kind of subscription, you can't get the info shared here anywhere else in some or most cases. I prefer having print magazines because they are still around when the internet is down or the power is out or my computer just puked it's last pixel and because of all the old car model magazines I have hoarded and occasionally look through to see where we've been and what was done "in the olden days". In fact, reading through the readers comments from the old magazines is just like these forums...except they had to write or type out their complaints/compliments manually and spend a stamp to get it in the magazine. I wish I had a solution for Gregg, but since I don't, I'll be glad to continue supporting him and the web forum I go to most frequently. (and quit whinging about site errors! I deal with them too but I don't whinge about something I'm getting for free.)
  2. really like it, was great to see it in person.
  3. that really is about as good as it gets when building this kit straight from the box with no additions. my brain hurts so much from the badly represented front end that Lindberg styled that I failed to notice the imaginative styling they did to the rest of the kit.
  4. nice find, I may need to stock up on those mirrors for my other small projects.
  5. good on ya, mate.
  6. I heard they were already loaded on an airplane that was trying to take off from a treadmill but the treadmill wouldn't run fast enough for the type of airplane they had loaded the shipment on. or maybe the treadmill needed a turbo encabulator...
  7. Great new location, lots of space, great air conditioning. Can't wait for the next one at this location. On to the stuff you clicked on this thread for. (click the link below for the rest of the set) https://flic.kr/s/aHskSBq3kv
  8. thank you. it's slow going because of my work schedule and the extra details I'm trying to add in. I want this to seem like a factory option rather than a custom pickup, there will be some mustang and ranchero styling cues from various years... and I'm trying to use what I've learned from all the great builders on this forum.
  9. Finally got a chance to work on this a bit more, got cabin bulkhead in. thanks for following, any comments welcomed.
  10. Yup, I'll be there taking photos and doing some shopping...
  11. the gas pedal I suggested is one of the "foot" style from a Detail Master photo etch set, the small ones in that set would work for 1/32 scale but are the left foot...so it would have to be mounted reversed to make it a "right foot" for a gas pedal.
  12. Brad, great work in one of the lesser scales. detail master has "foot" gas pedals that might work in this but you would have to mount it upside down. Let me know if you want one, I have a spare. Is it possible Chief Joseph would let other builders acquire 1/32 scale wheel/tire sets you had special ordered?
  13. Rest in peace, defender of rearview mirrors and alternator brackets.
  14. The 1/32 scale '52 Chevys and the '49 Fords released by Pyro etc make my brain scream "SOMETHING'S NOT RIGHT" when I see them built. Nothing that the builders do is amiss...it's the front of the cars. It seems like the mold makers were working from the box art rather than measurements from real cars. The front of the model is too flat and the chevy hood "nose" is too far back...with a similar frontal and hood issue on the '49 ford and it feels like the front clip is too long with the rear quarters being too short. These issues have put these kits way down in my list of kits/ideas to build. Don't get me wrong, I have a couple of each but I need to figure out a way to resolve the manufacturer issues before I will feel like working on them. The Pyro '34 Victoria is about fourth or fifth down in my list and while it looks like the '34 Vicky has some dimensional issues, the discrepancies lend themselves more to street rodding in a way that I can ignore and move forward.
  15. I'm not really a MOPAR nut, but I could get a little excited if a late 50's Sweptside were to hit the shelves.
  16. and maybe 1% can shift without a clutch...
  17. I really enjoy your detailed masterpieces, thank you for sharing.
  18. spin the head 180deg, change the distributor to a newer style, move the carb, intake and exhaust to the other side of the motor and you'll be close enough for this scale. might have to move the starter too... it's only plastic, bend it to your will.
  19. Completed inner tailgate panel, the bed will be permanently reattached once the cabin bulkhead is done. thanks for following, any comments welcomed.
  20. nice save. I saw a few years ago that someone was selling resin "one piece" bodies of the Willys for slot cars, don't know if it's still available.
  21. The apparent thought put into this, attention to detail and nuance is a delight to see. You have successfully captured the flavor of "Deco" style and created (another) work of art. BRAVO sir!
  22. off topic: hey Bill, tried to message you but got message you cannot receive messages.
  23. Roughed in motor mounts which were never on the original kit. Rear sub frame mostly done, need to research Ford shock mounts, stabilizer and panhard rod set ups. Other bed side finished out, just have to recreate the cab bulkhead and inner tailgate. Thanks for following along, any comments welcomed.
  24. what happened to Ken? there should have been an answer posted yesterday.
  25. Rear sub frame roughed in, fine tuning to follow later. Replacing old Plastruct (which I've had warp on me over time more than once) with Evergreen. Mock up and wheel check, wheels from Torino kit inside Pegasus sleeves Comments welcome, thanks for following
