here's what I do to remove this issue... (and I'm doing it now) I open threads I want to look at in a new tab instead of going to the thread in the main window. this option requires that you set your browser to switch to new tabs when they are created (or not....you just have to switch to the new tab yourself), this setting is in the browser options configuration to create a new tab to read a desired thread: 1. right click once on the thread heading you wish to read 2. a menu will appear, select the "Open link in new tab" menu item 3. your browser will open the selected thread in a new tab and switch to it automatically (if you have set your browser option to that, otherwise it will just create a new tab for the thread) 4. when you're done with the thread, click the X on the tab to close it and you're back where you were in the main forum page. you can create as many tabs as your computer memory will handle

Taking some forced time off/away, for the foreseeable future...

good luck on your changes. just don't get rid of your hobby stuff, you'll wish you had kept it. -
the contours are close till you get to the bottom of the fender, but not so much that a little sanding doesn't resolve the problem. one issue (which I did not consider well before cutting) is the cowl vent, which doesn't match between makes. I now have to graft one in on mine. I suggest cutting around the cowl vent on whichever body you choose and notch the receiving body accordingly.

you mean other than that unbelievably long deadstick glide of the Spitfire at the end of the movie... and the missing merlin engine block of same Spit when he burned it? I liked it also but found a few things stretched and a few things compressed. Looking forward to seeing Churchill.

different diameter plug wires available?
blunc replied to fiatboy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
electronics distributors are a great place to get various gauges of wire with different colors of insulation (I think most of the sellers of pre-wired distributors buy their wire in bulk from these sources. electronics distributors also have braided wire. Digikey, Mouser and Newark are a few of the companies I have purchased from although I'm guessing Amazon will have stuff also. -
now those are some fantastic big words that I just may work into social intercourse...

good luck Russ, I hope it's not one of those "temp" jobs.

thanks, it should be interesting to see how the rework on this goes... creating a believable "phantom" is my goal, and to take it to the next GSL.

right there with ya Chuck, I may get more than one when the go for half off or I have good coupons.

I'll second that, I spent $60 on Evergreen last time I was in a real hobby shop and could actually look/touch the sizes I needed. If only Evergreen would make hex rod in various sizes like that other company.

oof, I cringe every time a car show calls those wheels "honeycomb"... these wheels are the "snow flake" version that came after the actual honeycomb wheels I bet this kit can be back dated to a '73 TA with a little nose/grille work and fab in a corrected tail light panel.

Got some bench time... added in some firewall to chassis pan filler panels Added chassis to bed filler panels: Hole in the hood has been filled so it can be marked for the CJ shaker once the intake and carb have been sorted out, also tweaking the hood fitment and gaps: Re-thinking the wheel-tire choice to something more likely to be used in 1978: Fitted the Mustang II console: Thanks for following along, any comments welcome.

'55 Ford

the door opining lines seem a bit shallow, you may want to scribe them deeper before more paint -
Nice work so far. I have a similar (Ford) conversion that I am reworking from a 1980's build. I started with a Pinto wagon, moved the rear window forward similar to your conversion, then swapped the front clip to a 1978 Mustang II, the bed was from the AMT 1955 Nomad. My WIP thread is in the On the Workbench: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial section here:http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/121035-phantom-1978-ranchero-gt-small-update-4-7-2017/ I suggest going with a bed cover if you don't plan on adding inner tail gate panel.

wow, even if you don't like Foose styling, there are some fantastic pieces in this kit. can't wait to stock up after prices drop.

Engineering Drafting after common-core math and science...

my high school art teacher made us draw on that theme. I may still have it but I don't remember where it may be. -

My wife asked me to make her some "alien abduction" lamps for a sci-fi convention, here is what I came up with.... made from food storage lids, heat sinks from dead LED light bulbs, programmable LED light strings, acrylic tumblers, diffusing panels from dollar store LED candles and aliens... 20170623_183051 by Mike, on Flickr (click photo to see video of saucers)

I knew where to look because MPC marketed a 1/32 scale version of this car.
