  1. Mike's Decals is mainly NASCAR: https://www.mikesdecals.com/ Features Powerslide decals which was the maker of the letters for the tires. They make many NASCAR decals. I'm not sure what the relation is with Mike's and Poweslide, but when he posts on the NASCAR model forum that new decals are coming out, it's almost always Powerslide.
  2. A problem. My problem And these are the ones I sold.
  3. A couple of years ago I won a ridiculously low bid on a DM 1958 Ferrari Testa Rossa. I think I paid maybe $15 plus shipping. It wasn't perfect. No box, tag or papers. It was dirty and it was missing the tonneau cover and the hood latches were broken. Other than the missing cover and the tiny latches, it cleaned up nicely and was in exceptional shape. I thought one day I'll run across either a better hood, and or a replacement cover. Well, the other day I won a whole car for $20 that at first blush only had a broken wheel and came with a box, but it had the hood and cover. I thought I'll get those for mine, repair the wheel and resale it on eBay. Unfortunately when I received it, it was also missing the left side exhaust. I missed that in the sellers pictures. Fixing the wheel was as easy as pulling the rubber off the rims and swapping the broken inner half with the spare. Then mounting the inner half back on the axle and mating the outer half back up. then pulling the rubber tire back over the wheel halves. Looking at the missing exhaust, I realized I could use some styrene rod and tubes and pretty much fabricate the missing part. So I did. I also discovered this was a later release and had leather covered seats. The earlier ones like my first one were just plastic. Leather on the left, plastic on the right So, now I'm going to keep the new one and put the old one for sale on eBay.
  4. So, I didn't take Randy's advice and order decals from Fireball. I ordered mine from Mike's, because I was ordering some other decals and stuff, and they had these BF Goodrich decals for $4 and why not. I'm happy with them. I could have centered them a bit better, but unless you really stare hard it's barely noticeable to me. I used flat acrylic after i let the decal dry to knock the shine off the decal. I consider it complete.
  5. Those letters really improve the look. I need to get mine lettered. I have to finish my deck first though.
  6. I like red. I see so many painted grey, er... silver.
  7. Yes, and they ran at one speed or at least some of them did. So the pilot had to shut the ignition to the engine to slow down for landing. That's why they sound so odd when landing. check it out at 4:00.
  8. The grills on this make it post 1959. 1959 and earlier Ghias (low lights) have several exterior visual clues that distinguish them from the later Ghias. Smaller grills with fewer blades; headlights lower in the fender, hence the name; and smaller sqareish taillights. There are more differences, but those are quick identifiers.
  9. I usually don't have the money to spend on Exoto because most of their stuff is $100 + and it's 1/18 scale. I just checked the prices on the Exoto XS series and I definitely don't have $1000+ to spend on one model.
  10. Would that be on the Oakley funny cars?
  11. I just want to know which one of you master builders is going to make a replica in scale of it.
  12. I received a Pinto body Aurora Racing Scenes when I was a kid from a family member. They meant well. they didn't know they also had to purchase the chassis and the engine as well. My parents wouldn't fork over the money. My allowance was a mere pittance and would have taken a year to save up for each kit. I think I traded the body for something. My only regret is I never kept my models from my youth. They were all destroyed one way or another.
  13. Who's going to build the replica in scale?
  14. I had the kit. The included decals are meh. You'll need Slixx to get the look you want. Also it need better wheels and tires. I believe the hood has to be modified too or an aftermarket piece was what I was going to use. I sold it all on eBay.
  15. I've always thought this was the best "Art" car
  16. Your's looks so much better than the one I built 35 years ago.
  17. Looks like a Sportsman from the seventies. Brings back great memories. I can tell what it is and what year.
  18. The look excellent
  19. I have an idea how the room will be finished/decorated once it's finished. I just need to get started. I picked up the B'ville from HL when they were discontinuing them for cheap. I have several ideas for how the building area will be executed as well. I just have to get started. I do appreciate everyone's input. It does give me motivation.
  20. I think your on the wrong post, unless your a psychic. I just had a physical and I'm supposed to be OK. I do appreciate you wishing me good health.
