  1. Own both the Tucker movie and Dual on two different DVDs. Tells you what I think of both films.
  2. Okay, it's 4 below 0 (Fahrenheit) as I write this. At least it's not windy or snowing. Ah, the pleasures of living in Minnesnowta. Now where's my gun? Just kidding about needing the gun. But, still it's miserable when the temperatures get like this. I guess I just need to remind myself that is considered a very warm summer day at the Amdunsen-Scott base at the South Pole. Plus, it's not as cold as it can be, even here. And up until now, we've had a pretty nice and fairly warm winter. So I guess I have no real right to complain. Yet.... 4 below really sucks.....
  3. Check out Mr. Secules above posting for a link to Mr. Gulifoyle's great thread on the MPC '66 - '74 Chargers. It's well worth taking a second look at, and gives a great history to the origins of kit presently being reissued. Thank you Bill for posting the link. And thank you Ian for giving us a good look at the Chargers kits of MPC history. Great job guys.
  4. Looking at what came out of the box above I'm going to have to try a Heller kit one of these days. The above subject doesn't interest me so much. Are their other kits as nice as this appears to be? Again, I these out of the box reviews with photos. Thanks Dominik.
  5. Other than the last 5 minutes, this is one of the best "B" I've seen in a while. I liked it! Especially the dune buggy scenes. The story is not too bad. The acting is pretty good. The race scenes are fun. It has a real gritty feeling that a lot of racing movies from this time period miss. Worth taking the 1 1/2 hours to view it.
  6. Need to warn people. The above video is 1 1/2 hours long. Not a short 10 or 20 minutes thing.
  7. What does this have to do with Tucker's?
  8. Got my Deora today. You can see my review in "Car Kit News and Reviews" section. I like it.
  9. Too many to list. Have been at this hobby just over 50 years now.
  10. I want a '66 - '67 Super Wagoneer.
  11. I never seem to have enough kits! I love adding more and more to my collection. Will I ever build them all? It's unlikely. But, I don't drink, smoke, use drugs, gamble, or am involved in any other real vices. Model cars compared to many other vices out there is still relatively cheap. And it's still legal. I love the old kits that are being reissued by Round 2 and others. They may seem expensive. But, I've got the money now. Where in most cases I didn't have it at the time they were originally out. I look at it as all relative when it comes to prices. And again, compare it to other vices. Plus I love the new stuff that has been tooled up in the last few years. Especially the kits from Moebius. And, look at all the great new kits by Revell and Tamiya just to name two others. This is a great time to be in the hobby. Kits I've wanted for years being reissued. And in many cases restored. Cool new kits! Tools and paints we didn't have when I was a kid. My improved skills and pocketbook. And I belong to a great local model car club, the MCCM (Model Car Club of Minnesota). The guys there are great and we have a lot of fun. Both during and after the meetings, and on other occasions. Ten years ago, I thought for sure our hobby was dying. Now I see I was wrong. I'm having more fun, and with God's blessings I hope it continues for a while longer. And as long as it does, I'll keep on buying, and trying to build more and more model kits. Again, it's legal and I still have some room in my house.
  12. I'm surprised it took somebody this long to do this subject. It's about time! I would think that any and every James Bond car would sell like hot cakes. Though, I want my Lotus in the street version. The car turning into a submarine was a little too much for me. Even without turning into a sub, it was a cool Bond car.
  13. Note: Mr. Gulifoyle did state that those features came with annual. The later reissues, and the one they're reissuing here, never came with those features.
  14. OK Kats! I just got my Deora in the mail, within the last half hour. I opened the box, and all I can say is Wow! It was everything I was hoping for! I love the 12-page booklet. Where they give Tim Boyd some credit for helping putting it together. As normal, the modest Mr. Boyd, has not mentioned this. I love pad printed tires. Lovely! I'm very glad to see the original tonneau cover back in the box. And I love decals! Especially the woodgrain ones for not only the tonneau and bubble top, but the taillight panel too. I believe this is the first time that correct feature has ever been offered with this kit. The steering wheel has also surprised me. I've always assumed the kit had the wrong steering wheel in it. But, the photos in the booklet show the vehicle being built with that steering wheel in mind. As noted in the instructions and on the box sides, it's a "Covico" steering wheel. I don't know when the cut up Toronado steering wheel appeared in its place. But, since the truck was obviously originally set to go with the Covico wheel, and it looks better besides, I'm building mine with that steering wheel. There are other things not correct in the model vs. the real truck. But, with the tonneau cover back and the woodgrain decal for the taillight panel, it looks close enough for me. I'm happy! Thanks again Round 2. And thanks to Tim Boyd for his contributions.
  15. 1966 Batmobile. The '65 in the title got me to open this thread. I was curios to see what a pre '66 Batmobile toy looked like. Disappoint to find another a '66. Which are very comman today.
  16. Wow! Looking at the instructions, this is one impressive kit.
  17. I want the Sunnseeker 108' Predator yacht.
  18. I'd like to see a review of Otakl's '72 Thunderbird. I've always been a little fearful of the kit looking at the box.
  19. Another car people like to bad mouth that I kind of like. Never cared for the 2-door hatchback version they also sold here in the U.S. But, I always thought the 4-door was okay looking. For years, a local hobby store, Scale Model Supplies, had several of the above kits still in stock. In fact, they may still have one or two on their shelves. I finally broke down and bought one a couple of years ago. Typical Asian curbside kit. No opening hood or engine. But not too bad otherwise.
  20. I've been having more fun telling your above mermaid joke Harry. Everybody seems to like it. It's not a knee slapper per say. It's just cute.
  21. Every time I see this it makes want to cry. I would prefer the '51 Commander, because that had Studebaker's first V-8. But, any '50 - '51 bullet nose Studebaker Starlight coupe would be cool. To think they got this close. Ah.... It's sad.
  22. Chris' reviews are some of the best. I tend to watch all of them dealing with model kits. Both cars and the other kits. Even if, like the Flameout, I'm not interested in the kit. They are fun reviews, and always interesting.
  23. Yea, I too found it a little hard to read. Interesting car. Looking at the black & white photos I didn't like it. The stripes were too much. But, then I saw the color photo. And I kind of like it. It's still too much. But in that yellow, it kind of works.
  24. My vote would be for the '60. IMO the best looking car Chrysler ever designed.
