As 'ol Henry himself said "you can have it any color you want as long as it's black". I guess there is a difference between box stock and factory stock.? Nice color combos on the old chicken coupes. ?

Yes, I have always thought that Mercury missed the boat on this. What's nice is that you can purchase a kit to turn your hardtop Mustang into a fastback.....and use it on a Cougar. ?

WoW ! I have been wanting to do this to the 1:1 for years. I owned a couple nice drivers over the years and the last one I had I wanted to do this. A friend of mine at the time was getting pretty good with Photoshop and he asked me to send him a picture of driver side rear. This is what he did with it.

I sure do hope the Partridge family is ok.

I had a flurry of trading over the last couple weeks and this is what I ended up with. I wanted to build some early rods out of parts, check that off. I needed a 61 Ranchero for cutting up, check that off. I also ended up with a nice 51 Belair kit, and then splurged for a couple of resin bodies. I have a box of 55-7 pickups that will be the perfect donors.

Pile O' Parts RPU
Sam I Am replied to Modlbldr's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Engine and tranny look good. Instead of messing with the front crossmember, maybe recess the firewall. -
That is a very clean old buildup. May I suggest that you sit down and polish it out the best you can and then see how you feel. On a side note, last November I went to a show and one of the old time vendors who had been doing this for years was retiring. This was his last show, he had sold his entire inventory to someone else. So at the end of the day when we started packing up, I went through his stalls of kits, parts, etc. I had been hoarding an old glue bomb Ranchero for years just to try and save the full roof. But low and behold this guy had an unbuilt one in its box. He was feeling very generous and sold it to me for $7.50 (now ducking, lol) I picked up one of the new Revell Ford Custom kits and hope to use the best parts of it to build a real nice Ranchero.

Need some help finding a thread
Sam I Am posted a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Before the shuffle, I was looking at a wip that a member was building. He normally does curbside but this one he was putting an engine in and made the comment that he was going back to curbside. With my sieve like memory I cannot remember what the car was or who the builder was. I went through 10 pages of models but still can't find it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! -
You should have warned us we needed sunglasses before viewing. Saying it "pops" is an understatement.

Enjoyed watching you build this and great job on the woodwork.

I always thought an older Ferrari engine would look great in an old hot rod. -
That's the ticket! Its even Martin Senior from Napa. Looks like you have two choices. The one that was my favorite is the Limestone Green. That color really dazzles in the sun.

Gotcha! One nice thing right now is that automotive supply stores are still open. Napa has a line of paint called Martin Senior, also look in your directory for Industrial Finishes. They have a few different lines of paint. Being that it is a solid color they should be able to mix a few ounces, like for a touch up bottle. Tell them you want a single stage enamel or urethane. It might help if you go in and ask to look at a color chart from 1973 so you can give them a color code if you do not already have one. I did this with a 67 Mustang because I wanted an OEM color. If you go the extra mile for your wife, it will definitely earn you brownie points. ?

Which green are you going after? There were a number of different light greens available on these trucks. One of my favorites was a light green metallic.

I like this a LOT!
