  1. Thanks for clearing this up, Mark!
  2. Indeed, I had a "Homer" moment just yesterday
  3. I vaguely seem to remember Dave Darby saying, that this version didn't include chrome tail light buckets (included in the original kit), leaving a large gap between the clear red lens and body. Does anyone here know if this has been addressed?
  4. Thanks Casey, I'm saving this in my favorite folder.
  5. then check out the custom (diagonal) dual headlamps from the amt '53 Ford pickup truck.
  6. A couple of years ago Revell Germany had a post your model wish on our site web page, a lot was posted (good and bad), but by looking at the new releases, I think the new management threw it all into the garbage. Oh well...
  7. Very nice indeed! Would love to be able to buy, a model kit of this car and other models, once used by many cab companies, and police agency's. BTW I think I still have a Matchbox super kings diecast hidden somewhere in the attic, at my folks.
  8. Maybe, but just the notion of a "want" coming in the not too distant future, gives me a "raison d'être" Dunno, maybe the statement is too strong, but the hobby as a whole gives me some piece of mind, something I need after a stressful day at work (HVAC tech), same for the board here, the interaction with like minds here.
  9. I like the way the model kit industry this year, is protecting me from overspending. The only new subjects of interest to me are -Heller's Estafette's -Italeri's Land Rover (if it's a 4dr..) -Revell's Ford GT.
  10. IIRC Dave Burket of the Model King, did well with reissuing vintage oval track racer kits, so maybe the sales track record, lead the way to this endeavour.
  11. Back when I worked for Opel (ex-GM) we found out that the vehicles we were exporting to Russia were disassembled , by removing drive-train seats, and cockpit, near the Russian border in Poland, shipped to Russia and then reassembled, which sometimes resulted in funny warranty claims, like engine problems on a vehicle of which our record showed that, that vehicle wasn't built with that engine. Oops!
  12. Maybe in the not too distant future Drake collectibles, will release some interesting big rigs, cuz the last time I contacted them, they said they didn't abandon the model kit productline.
  13. They're not bad, but there's one pesky thing on the Range Rover, which is the taillites, they're molded in very thick clear plastic, and thus prone to sinkmarks, something you don't want on clear parts. And in case this isn't common knowledge here, they're both curbsides
  14. I download the preview from the Italeri FB page, so knew it was on there, before opening Chuck's post.
  15. To my knowledge Esci never did a 4dr. but Polistil did a diecast, which I had as a kid, but don't remember if it had fender or grille mounted headlamps. Anyway...gonna try via FB to get some info from Italeri on this one...
  16. Click here Rob
  17. Wonder if the photo of Land Rover fire truck shown on page 14, is of the model (series II) they're releasing Land Rover series
  18. Now that's box-art!
  19. Looks like Q4 is still open to 4 items, maybe they will be revealed at the Nürnberg toy fair next week.
  20. ... link to Heller 2008 catalog
  21. If the due date is March, can't final shots and a box-art build be reproduced to, swing the online PR going redline? Just wondering...
  22. Love it, you've build and presented it, just perfect!
  23. IMHO Cheap kits (thanks to Walmart and co) killed the AM (especially car kits) they had something good going but a few decades too soon. See also my post on Bel-Kits...
  24. Bel-Kits also came out of the blue and found their niche, maybe the low production numbers are slowly taking he toy aspect out of model kits, just as with the military segment a decade or two ago... Interesting indeed
