  1. Excellent job. These long-term projects can be so very rewarding.
  2. Yes, great answers above, for sure. Tooling availability is key. But, with enough time, money and interest, modern tech has been able to bring back some kits that have been long dead through 3d scanning. Can’t say the most obscure projects will come to fruition, but some highly sought-after kits with partially or fully non-existent tooling may again see the light of day. The Ertl IH 4070a, for example. We thought we’d never see it again, and there it was.
  3. Yep, even with the “snap” 359, it’s best to glue it. And like it’s been posted above, CA (super) glue and the liquid solvent cements are best no matter which kit it is, they’ll make your building process go so much better. For clear parts, use canopy glue or Micro Krystal Klear.
  4. That may very well be true. I tried last night to look up the tape, but couldn’t find much. There was some on eBay, but none of the conspicuity tape. So, now I’m not sure where it can be found.
  5. Gofer Racing makes some generic decal sheets for trucking-related companies. Some may include municipality-type markings, at least coming them with the kit decals might give you what you need. For the conspicuity markings, I can be more specific: Line O Tape makes a 1/24 1/25 scale roll of exactly what you need. Self adhesive and a bonus, just like the real thing - reflective, too.
  6. That’s a cool detail. Even better as a functional one.
  7. Joseph at Fireball Modelworks might have some items for you. https://fireballmodels.info/
  8. Excellent. I’ll look at getting one.
  9. I’m considering getting one for myself, along with the photo etch set from ST Supply. Keystone also has the FLB and International Fleetstar out now, too.
  10. Thanks for letting us know. So sorry to hear. I ordered several times from him over the past few years. He contributed greatly to our hobby. He will be missed.
  11. Love it. Great paint scheme, and a nice daycab modification.
  12. Nice job with both of them. A nice clean build for the Topkick, looks fresh, maybe out on one of its first jobs. The ol gmc is great too. Nice details in the bed, and I like the old rag for a fuel cap.
  13. I’d be interested in a pair, if they were still available. I bet someone else could draw them up and get them printed.
  14. Are you looking for any specific accessories?
  15. Yes, forgot about that.
  16. Stunning. What a beauty.
  17. Yeah, I think a hard-to-find updated resin hood is about it, though Models by Dave made a bumper update for a 2015-2017 model, I believe. Other than resin, CTM makes very nice photo-etched interior and exterior upgrade sets.
  18. Definitely. It seemed like the vast majority were working trucks - show-quality working trucks, including many of the vintage rigs. The black Troy Link 4070b for example, still works daily, according to the guy I spoke with.
  19. First time for me…wow, it was big. I had a great time this weekend. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys trucks of all eras and types…Show, Classic, Fleet, Working Show, Wreckers, Dumps…the list goes on. The show was capped off by parade of lights from St Ignace, across the Mackinac Bridge to Mackinaw City. Here are some highlights, only a small sample of what was on display:
  20. Looks like it’s ready to get working. Load ‘er up. What do you have planned for a load?
  21. Nice job with it. Makes for a great addition to a truck or SUV model. Makes me want to head out fishing, too. You don’t see these built often, so I always appreciate checking them out when they pop up on the forum. The one thing I’ve never been certain of is the design of the trailer. Does anyone know if Revell based it off of a particular 1:1 design? I don’t recall ever seeing a solid platform for a boat trailer in real life, but who knows?
