  1. Ahh, now that’s a possibility. I could see a sci-fi guy saying how “awesome” a project is if it was something like that. The licensing would be costly, but I think it would sell. There are multiple generations/versions of Optimus Prime that would be cool, but I’d think the Western Star would be the most likely candidate. Some, like myself, would build it stock, without the movie modifications. I’d like to hope it was the Transtar 4070A or 4070B returning. But, I can’t imagine a sci-fi guy getting excited about that, even if he’s paid to be “excited” when making the videos. He seemed genuinely interested when discussing what he thought of the development, but maybe I’m reading too far into it.
  2. True, probably pretty expensive. I guess most people are happy with the more common “off the shelf” factory-made dually.
  3. Looks good. I like the trailer a lot. I often see guys with dually trucks hauling a few cars at a time with similar trailers. Always wondered why those F650 trucks were not more common, both as models and the real thing. Seems like they’d be more popular. At least, I don’t recall seeing them on the road much.
  4. That’s great. I too, when I read the thread title, immediately thought this had to be his Trans Am. It’s perfect. I can see Dwight stumbling and falling against the rear window with a concussion. Of course, it would be missing the front bumper in that scene.
  5. Spectacular! I love builds like this. You knocked it out of the park when it comes to character and uniqueness. Excellent weathering and detail.
  6. I watched it again, and like Casey posted above, he doesn’t necessarily say that it’s a “new” kit, or new tooling. It might be implied, by saying it’s a “big rig development in the works”. I’m trying not to get my hopes up about something completely new - but it’s exciting regardless of it being new or a highly anticipated reissue with new parts and updated tooling. I will be happy either way, I’m sure.
  7. Much improved!
  8. “All new” and “big rig” in the same sentence. That sure has us all wondering.
  9. If it takes Coke decals in order to bring this sought-after kit out again, no big deal. Looking at the box art, minus the coke logos, not a bad paint scheme either! I’d happily welcome a Coke Transtar II, bring it on, if that’s what it takes.
  10. That’s one mean looking truck. Great weathering and detail. Nice choice in aftermarket tires.
  11. Very true, the time machine could only travel through time, not space and time. In other parts of the movie trilogy they have holes like this, such as when Doc says he’d probably be burned at the stake as a heretic if he landed in the dark ages. Probably true, but not in the Hill Valley area, in the dark ages. But, running into a tree from long ago was a legitimate concern. Still love those movies!
  12. Impressive builds. Great details. Just the right amount of weathering. I love the stuff you don’t see often!
  13. Nice build. You captured the look you were after in the 1:1 inspiration truck.
  14. A fine job with this one. I like the added hoses and detail. They are getting their money out of this hard-working piece of equipment.
  15. Really nice work, especially with something more on the unique side of builds. I love the added details like the blocks and planks, along with the tools and equipment. Great weathering too.
  16. I was just recently wondering the same thing. I looked through the product listings of all the current aftermarket places I know, and couldn’t find any KTA engines.
  17. Great progress. Your body construction technique is both clever and authentic, with the separate panels behind the outside frame. Good tip with the trash bag to help with the pvc mess. When you’re done with this project, be sure to take photos of it with all of your other modern emergency apparatus builds. It would be impressive to see them all together.
  18. Looks great, nice paintwork.
  19. Nice job. This is what AMT should have done with the kit!
  20. I’ve seen pictures of this one before, too! What a neat project it’ll be. It’s right up my alley, as well. Go for it! I was wondering about engine access too. Like a front engine Class A RV, I bet they have a removable doghouse cover inside, and much of the exterior front opens up. If I remember correctly, the Argosy has a pretty large “hood” area surrounding the grille that opens/lifts away for general servicing and maintenance. Not as convenient as a conventional, or even a tilting cabover, but possible, much like a rear engine bus. Will the service techs be happy when this rolls in? Probably not. But I’m sure they’ll charge the added labor costs for the extra time. Turning radius? Big. But, probably no worse than many of the stretched conventional trucks, or a bus. And yeah, I know, you wouldn’t see a Greyhound pulling a 53’ race trailer, but some RVs and stackers come close. Now, the color question is answered. What about the cab? A resin A&N Freightliner Argosy is hard to find (I wish they’d make another run). Do you have one, or will you substitute another cabover?
  21. That’s neat. I figured you had at least a good start towards building the fleet. True, the lack of kit availability makes it more challenging. I continue to enjoy seeing your builds.
  22. Nice work, love the CN paint scheme. I haven’t seen a CN truck in person, but I see CN locomotives often. I agree that you don’t see these kits built up often on here, despite the popularity of the real thing. Full engine or not, I’d love to get my hands on a 670. I have a 780 in the stash that’s on my build list. I’ve considered opening and hinging the hood and fitting a resin ISX15 in it, but I haven’t researched how feasible that would be - if the frame could be adapted or if I’d need to put the cab and sleeper on a different chassis altogether.
  23. Fantastic all around, especially the ultra- realistic weathering. An incredible representation of the 1:1. About what percentage of your family’s fleet have you recreated in scale? At least one of every make and model?
