KW aerodyne wrecker finished !!

The light bar was purchased from police cars.com, and painted w chrome, gloss black, and smoke . The mirrors were scratchbuilt and resin cast , the mounts are pins I bent and installed in drilled holes. I'm very satisfied with the results even though there's numerous changes I'd made now.. -
I'm calling the build finished , there's some thing hugely gratifying about finishing a build I've wantedto try for so long . just had to wait for my skills to improve before whacking plastic. Let's take a walk around the truck and show what I hope is a tribute to this amazing truck. That's about it! Any feedback welcome

Firetruck lime yellow paint
gotnitro? replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Browsing the scale firehouse site turned up several options. One I thought looked very convincing is rustoleum key lime . Here's a pic of the can Hope this helps ya out ! Swing by the auto parts stores too, a well stocked one might have other options . -

I built the kw wrecker using the kw cab, the interior tub will fit with the headlight section ( cab corners ) installed. It's tight. I angled up the rear by bunk then slowly pinch the interior sides around the step "humps" it'll click in place. I left off the grill so I had finger room . Looks like a fun project so far -
Local shop had 205 fresh from the mail truck, great tribute to Harry !! Good to see the mag back in circulation

Thanks ! Now I can show the Texas bumper. . I buffed w fine steel wool then metal polish..ended up decent The lettering has been problematic, finding out gold rub on tranfers are very brittle and seem to refuse sticking to the finish.I tried 2 different sheets and same issue occurred. The white wasn't an issue. Tom B mentioned gold molotow pens so I'll use those -thanks tom Here's the truck as it sits tonite Any comments or criticism welcome -
Jim your ability to locate obscure items shocks me..that and the fact you found a resin toilet lol

And better racing instead of follow the leader . Change all the rules ya want..they've taken the driving away from the athletes.

Thanks DC haven't seen ya much around here..thought maybe ya caught that red hand rash too lol The decals lay down easily, but assure you cut very close to the stripes cause the carrier covers the entire sheet. I ended up with a few clear blobs . Using decal solvent like Micro sol will pull them into low areas and around details. -

Your work is impeccable, so clean and detailed it's a pleasure to follow along watching them develop. I run into the same issue getting tubing and stock to look proper, sometime I just lucky guess -

Tiny update for tonite..my first custom visor ! Thin metal sheet from k& s about thickness of soda can..it's extremely sharp Everything else is wrapping up but been tough stealing productive bench time lol I'll probably add the Texas bumper before long, once i practice technique on scrap, and all the finish touches . Stay tuned
