  1. I know the title is not too specific but here's my dilemma. This is the Revell '69 Camaro SS kit painted with Scalefinishes' GM Azure Turquoise. While applying the decal I noticed something in the paint. After the decal was in place using Micro Sol & Set, I used a fine tipped brush and dry brushed paint from the bottle over the spot. The dab appears a couple of shades darker than the rest of the door. Since the spot is so close to the decal I'm considering putting Future over the decal, mask the decal and spray a coat of paint on the door. My concerns are 1. Will the Tamiya masking tape pull off the Future? 2. Will the Future interact with the Tamiya TS-13 clear? Long winded but hope the problem is clear. Thanks
  2. Last mock up/test fit before completion of the Revell '69 Camaro SS. Just needs decals, clear coat, and photo etch.
  3. This is like a TV series we're I can't wait for the next episode. Great work.
  4. Hopefully he or she is busy building something.
  5. I remember when a digital watch cost close to $200. Now you can get one for about $10. Smells like metathesiophobia.
  6. Buy it = spend money, save time Build it = spend time, save money Comes down to which you have more of.
  7. Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try.
  8. Oh man this is so cool! The windows that were filled in decades ago, the manhole cover, etc, etc. And all in a week and a half. Awesome. Car is bad azz too.
  9. Care to share your recipe?
  10. I say A if you're going with a single color for the body. "Busy" can keep the eye moving. Any 2 tone on the body, B would be my choice. The paint job would keep the eye moving. My check for 2¢ is in the mail.
  11. Do the colors hold up to burnishing?
  12. Makes perfect sense. Thanks!
  13. This is an excellent idea. Practical and relatively easy to make. What are the aluminum angle pieces used for?
  14. I use lacquer thinner, thin swabs, masking tape and a lot of patience. It can be tedious removing the primer then the paint but I like the results. I'm trying to get the nerve up to remove the clear coat as well. Here's my current project in Tamiya gray primer:
  15. Lol! Thanks Joe! The black reflective base is similar to this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/224006759084?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=2Nry0OfuQs-&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=ZLjQhvpIS4S&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Used with a photo box. Thanks again
  16. I've been going with the BMF under paint and clear recently. The upside for me is that I get a crisper line when the BMF is applied to the bare plastic especially if I scribe first. I have trouble getting smooth cuts when the BMF is over clear. I think it makes trim pieces appear thicker when the BMF is over several coats of paint and clear. The down side is the clear does knock down the brightness of the chrome. I've been using Tamiya TS-13 mostly.
