  1. Now THAT.....is impressive Bart!!! Good stuff on the loco AND the guitar.
  2. This.....is definitely not plastic but is merely a filler build for me. If I find myself working on a project for longer than 6 months ( like the 67 Mustang that I'm currently building) I need something to give me a kick in the pants so I'll have a sense of accomplishment or, in this case, a sense of actually completing something. I've been seeing thiss kit at HL for the last few months and have been wanting to build it after building the Metal Works Avro Lancaster last year. So.....I bought one. It took me two days of dedicated building with the difficult parts being the assembly of the machine guns and the finicky landing gear. The trick to these is to pay attention to what you're bracing against on any given backside surface of where the retaining tabs are being bent. If you're braced wrong then stuff starts to bend and distort. It's a careful process but it yields in a pretty snazzy finish when it's all said and done. Being all metal and smaller in scales, it's neat to see one of these kits (whatever the subject) all built up and while not the most detailed and certainly not accurate, they are cool little conversation pieces anyway. The finished product.... The cockpit and engien were decently portrayed with some details. A seat belt harness was built into the seat but like I was saying about the accuracy, these aircraft only came with a simple rope in which to hold the pilot in. I couldn't help but to apply a wash to the cooling fins on the outside of the cylinders which brought out the detail that much more. Each one of those cylinders had to be individually rounded and installed. and a scale reference shot:
  3. I really.....REALLY dunno where to start with commenting on these amazing works of art Curt. Blown.....away......
  4. Dude this is crazy cool. Can't get over all the fabrication and the details. The details man.
  5. Wow!!!! That's pretty dang cool right there.
  6. Yeppers.....I'll be in on this one. Been a while since I've sat in on a build of yours but I've got a front seat now.
  7. Good lookin' car. I'm right there with Rusty....looking forward to seein' this one completed.
  8. Thanks Bob and Dave!! Managed to test fit the interior in place and get the dash adhered to the interior tub in just the right position. Before I went any further I did one more stance check to make sure that it was where I wanted it.........and .....although I might raise it in the front juuuuuuuuuuuuust a tad.....it is where I want it in regards to rake.
  9. This is a cool project for sure!!! Watching......
  10. Looking good on this one so far Charlie. Divorces can get pretty tough and sorry you're going through one. Hang in there bro.
  11. Love the Thrush decal on the sides of the car and those headliner decals make it a hit as well. Great work so far Michael.
  12. I know EXACTLY what you're talking about in regards to the factory seats. Great for cruising around town but for the long trips.............not at all. I drove my 89 from Corpus to Colorado .......twice with the factory seats. Frickin' brutal man. I'm really liking what you're doing in the interior and all these mods are definitely gonna pay off when it's all said and done.
  13. Such a good build to follow. Looks 1:1.
  14. Wow! Thanks for the great comments Monty. Really appreciate that bud. No problem at all bro. Let me know if you have any trouble with that stuff Mike.
  15. Man alive this thing is looking good JR!!! Wow!!!
  16. Just realized that this one's not on my "watch" list. Got that taken care of now. Looking forward to the next update.
  17. Coming along nicely Ken!
  18. Fan blades.........perhaps a 1/72 scale 3 blade aircraft prop with the blade lengths cut down and the edges rounded some to fit the hole and to look like the fan in the pic? Good thinkin' on the mods btw.
  19. Keep 'er comin' Steven. I know that there's more on the way from you but I almost hate to see this one come to a close as I look forward to every update.
  20. Nice catch on that bumper. Small details like that add up over the course of the build. Continuing to watch this beauty come together Steve.
  21. I've got the same fit issues with my '67 Mustang Fastback kit Declan and I'm prepping my parts pretty much how you're doing here. The molds on these kits are VERY old and this is what tends to happen. I did have a spare kit in the stash and the fit on that one was even worse. Carl's got the right idea which I'll do to mine as well once I get the initial fitting & prep finished up. Looks like you're sorting the issues out with yours.
  22. Not your best finish?? Wow!! Now THAT.....looks great!!!
  23. I do use it straight from the bottle Mike. There are some that absolutely cannot work with it and therefore don't like it but I've found that shooting it at around 30psi and staying fairly close to the work with the AB produces the smoothest result. The further from the work the airbrush is and / or the lower the pressure (25 psi or less) produces a grainy/ fuzzy look. I use alcohol for AB clean up and make sure to shoot some water through it after cleaning.
  24. This is gonna be fun to watch. Love the Chevy mil in there btw......just sayin'
