Shelby GT350 Rocker Stripes
vamach1 replied to 250 Testa Rossa's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Either the Monogram or Fred Cady ones should work. -
Did someone say Thunder Valley? Nice job Gramps. I added some Fujumi and HRM parts and junked the TV kit engine.

Nice to see some models with some road wear and not always shiny ann new. Nice save.

It's been a year since anyone posted on this thread. Did anyone build the kits mentioned. I did finish a Testors MKIV a few years ago. The 1/43 diecast is made by IXO. I should have paid close attention to where the side marker lights were. They need to be repositioned so they do not interfere with the gum balls.

Looks low and mean in a solid dark color. Nice work.

Sounds like fun. The display only idea isn't original but it's a start. I've only been to local IPMS events and of course they are dominated by armor, planes, ships and figures and the quality of the entries is usually top notch. I do wish they would bring the National to the DC area one year. It would be a natural to have it at the Air & Space museum in Chantilly VA.

It's looking fantastic. I built the Folger's one box stock 30 years and still have it.

Thanks for posting. -

Super nice. Any engine pics?

Got some nice photoetch in the mail today from a Ebay seller. Lot's of tiny pieces that could do a dozen models or more.
-
I know Brad from HRM cast them when he did the convertible transkit. I recall other mentioning they came in various kits since it was a generic wheel cover that Shelby put a center cap on. I'd have to agree on the color choice too.

Very nice. I like the stock hubcaps too.

Very nice how you blended the modern interior and engine with the 67 body. -
LHS (sorta) seems like it's in trouble

I'm surprised Hobby stores have held on this long with stores like Michael's Hobby Lobby, etc having much better overall profit margins and probably do not compete as much with on-line sellers since they offer so many other things to a mostly female customer base. If there is one thing that has gotten better with the hobby is the ability to communicate with enthusiasts and to go to events that just did not exist 40 years ago. I guess as long as there is demand kits will still be made but it is a hassle to order on-line for just a few things and then have to pay shipping so that one can do spray paint will end up costing $10. -
Good observaition. It would be odd the spare would be different but for a real car not that surprising. It is a beautiful build and kit. I did think it was black until I saw the close ups.

I am interested in the decal sheet. Nice work.

Very nice work. Motor City has the wheels also as do some of the older AMT kits.

You also experiment to see if the 69 Boss 302 front end fits.
-
You need to come over to the dark side (1/43 scale). There are some really nice models and not all of them are expensive. I did stop buying 1/18 as they just take up too much room and most have less detail than FM or DM 1/24 models. The pics do not include any of my Mustangs.

It was processed yesterday.

Paypal is processing a refund since they cannot reach him. Has anyone heard anything. I have only ordered one other time and did not have any issues before.

I hope to get some pictures in DC on Friday. They are going to project ths saturn rocket on the Washington monument. -
Good choice on the engine transplant. A little more work but the end result will be more believeable. Now that I see the rear spoiler holes I'm going to fill mine in. They are too far forward and the spoiler sits too high. Back to the putty and primer.
