  1. Yes - they were the basis for the early kits. I bought this fastback someone had painted the body red.
  2. I might have been able to save you time on those wide fenders.
  3. Nice color and I like the wheels. I have more sets of those than I know what to do with.
  4. Use a coupon. The regular price was $9 at Michaels.
  5. I used Testors black metallic as the base coat and Tamiya clear after the Colorshift coats.
  6. Anyone one else tried it. I had good results spraying this Mustang Cobra.
  7. Nice job. I have the conversion kit and decals as well to do a Cobra II.
  8. Youpey I think you covered just about everything. It sounds like with the Revell versions you could build a 66 Shelby convertible (only six were made) but not be able to do a stock convertible.
  9. I'm guessing I built this in the late 1980's.. I think everything else before that was not very good and was redone or added to the parts bins. It's the 30th anniverssary of the Maryland Automotive Modelers Association this month and that is when I got back into building pretty regularly. Now if I just built six models a year that would be 180. I think I'm a little short of that but I do have a lot of 1/43 kits so I'm probably at 100 or so total in the various display cases.
  10. That model explains a lot. LOL
  11. Nice. I see you and raise you one. LOL
  12. Looks very good. Maybe there is hope for those Motormax Mustangs too. I wish the tires were better - the tread on the sides reminds me of snow tires.
  13. I have a few more unpainted so I can cover the most of the color spectrum.
  14. Decided on doing a competition orange Boss 351 (special order colors) instead of the metallic blue. Just for a change I primed a 96 Cobra convertible with black metallic to be covered with Testors color shift and Tamiya clear to replicate the mystic chrome paint.
  15. It's sort of a cross between a GT40 (rear engine) and a Cobra (open car) but since they did not do a street version it falls into the same category as an Allard or Chapparel one of the many limited hand made race cars of the late 50's and early 60's
  16. My son has a 2001 trublue GT. My Mach1 on the left and a Cobra with a 5.0 Coyote transplant on the right.
  17. Doing a coupe, convertible, sprint, Boss 351, 72 & 73 Mach 1's, 007 Mach1, some fastbacks, a Shelby Europa, 429 CJ, 351HO, Eleanor, and some racing versions in various colors.
  18. Even with this many bodies I still have some ideas for a few more colors. Only one mishap - a run on the blue fastback which I will correct when it dries. Getting the brownish color for the Eleanor was an expirement.
  19. Thanks. Anytime br67.
  20. Very well done sir. I read it as soon as it arrived and it is worth every penny. This book should be in every hobby store (the ones that are left). The only problem is it makes me sad that some kits will never return but it does not stop me from looking for them.
  21. If they stay under the radar (no website or Facebook) they should have no problem.
  22. This color would be very cool.
  23. Do you mean the 68 GT500? Not that I recall. I think I used the 69 kit for the 68 GT500KR I made.

    LaFerrari

No posts yet because everyone is speechless. Dang that is super nice.
  25. The light tan really helps bring out the details much better than a black interior.
